What is the point of permanent pets?

I was thinking of getting a pet. Anyone have a perma pet that can give an opinion about this? ;-;

perma pet + perma meso sack = perma way of making money by going away from keyboard(wont let me say a-f-_) or not picking up money haha in the end it makes you money in the long run. Plus the miserable life thingamajigger and the water of life. to summarize: Makes/saves money hf

I've thought the reason was to be able to upgrade the weapons that need pets like the maku (level 10) to the makusuma (level 40) daggers which require a level 15+ pet and the max upgrade requires a level 30 pet which I think would take a little longer than 3 months to do
