Possible windows 7 temporary solution

Like many windows 7 users I have been unable to scar / zak / whatever recently. However I was able to complete a Scarlion run two days ago! Run Maplestory in Windowed mode only (Not full screen). It was hard at hell to see but it didn't crash during the whole fight. NOTE! often when leaving it in windowed mode mode for awhile and later you try to switch back to full screen the game will freeze/crash. Leave it in Windowed mode the whole time! I still D/C when cc'ing but not as often. At least I was able to do a boss run. Check and see maybe this will work for you also.

When i open maplestory on win7 i have 2 huge bars on the left/right side of the screen, anyone know how to fix it?

The problem is the graphic cards/chips and SO compatibility, as i have tryed to maple on all win XP, vista and 7, each on different computers and configs, the best you can do is to downgrade to XP until they patch it to work on win7 along with upgrading your video drivers.

@ 1aznboii Open up your video options for your video card. There is a scaling option in there: Fixed aspect ratio= bars Scale to fit screen = full screen

windowed screen or not, ms crashes. it really can only be a compatibility issue... i know almost for a fact that my 1400 dollar built computer cannot be the cause.

[/quote] its your computer i have had 0 problems running maplestory on windows 7 and vista that i did not run into while running it on windows xp the problem is the game itself not the os. The crashes lagspikes are all problems with the game or your pc. on a brand new win 7 pc with 8gb of ram i5 cpu i have 0 lag spikes and i rarely crash. no more than i did when runnin maplestory on windows xp

@ OAtreyulO ->what else to do when maple wont work? JK @ TheRebel -> congrats to you, the 5% of windows 7 that maple works for. Shut Up. The rest of us are suffering and are trying to find a solution. 2 (or 3 ) patches ago maple worked fine and I could boss. New patch ment problems right after the patch.

Funny, i always play windowed mode and ended up d/cing within 1 minute of pap 3 times in a row, then after trying full screen i didn't d/c.

I run Windows 7 64-bit with MS, and sometimes I do have issues with my graphics card, where things begin to 'flash' or just turn black, and flickery. However, that is not the problem on boss runs. The client just shuts off without any lag, randomly, during zakking & cwk. I have used the solution of slowly notching down the graphics in cwk, and managed to stay in a cwk run all the way to the bonus - note, I play in windowed mode, and there was no need to alt-tab. I have had much fewer issues with Scar, and have manged to not be dced in majority (70%~) of my runs, so I'm doubtful as to just "leaving in windowed mode" will work on the laggier bosses with larger summons (such as Zak, or cwk). For Scar, I don't need to notch down my graphics - I'm constantly at lowest.

It works occaisionally,cwkpq is saved by changing quality and windowed mode.

I agree with this. I have been doing that recently and I dc way less at boss runs now. Also, this works even better if, you close your maple window before the boss run and then reopen it. Do not just simply relog by clicking quit. Actually close the window and reopen. Anyways, this has worked so well for me, typically I'd dc right when zak was summoned, or after one or 2 arms died or if I was lucky, right after all arms are gone, but now I actually can last for a full run. This might not completely help all people but it helped me so you guys can try it and see if it works.
