Hi there, I'd like some homework help if thats okay. Yes, I have looked through the homework help thread and any links arent of use to me. My topic is radians and finding their exact values. For example: "Find the exact value of tan2pi/3". Obviously i can convert it to degrees and get the answers, but the teacher wants us to "think in radiands", so basically finding the answers without converting. My knowledge is - 30 degrees = pi/6, 45 degrees = pi/4 and 60 degrees = pi/3. Any help is appreciated (and if you could explain how you came to this, I'd appreciate it). The unit circle if you need it to explain to me.

I don't know the answer but you should check this guy out. http://www.youtube.com/user/khanacademy?feature=chclk He's all about math and science, I learned all the things from him that I didn't get.

Since tan=sin/cos cos corresponds to the x value sin corresponds to the y value In the unit circle, 2pi or 0 exists in the first quadrant so the value of 2pi will be (1,0) therefore sin2pi/cos2pi = 0/1=0 then divide by 3=0

i can give you notes lol but scanner is downstairs and cbf going down anyway heres the answer 2pi/3 = 2nd quadrant 2nd quarant equation is pi - feta so it becomes 3pi/3 - pi/3 which equals tan pi/3 =0

Mmmmmm my favorite. 2pi/3 is in the second quadrant, and its reference angle is pi/3, so it's equal to -tan(pi/3). tan(pi/3) is equal to tan 60 degrees, which is rad(3). tan(2pi/3) = -rad(3)

Thanks RiceBreak and everyone. I'm sure you had good intentions, but the teacher taught us differently (well, not so much teaching as a 2 minute chat on it). I'll just have to revise the best I can for my trig test tomorrow. Thanks anyway everyone. :D
