How do you choose your music?

So when your looking for new music, do you try to find a song with good lyrics, or find songs that just sound good?

I frankly don't care about lyrics anymore. I always listen to instrumental or instrument-only cover versions of songs with lyrics, classical pieces, and any other genre where lyrics aren't the focus.

Its always the sound, unless the lyrics have to do something with sex; most sex-related songs, I find immature and obnoxious. I stay away from mainstream music. Recently, I've been favoring a mix of Muse, Coldplay and Dubstep remixes

it should sound good overall - if it has lyrics the singer most not have a very weird voice - slightly weird i can tolerate

Since I listen to KPOP only, I just wait for new song releases. Then if it's catchy I'll listen to it more, if it's by a favourite band I'll buy/download it anyways. The lyrics...I can understand them fairly well, I look them up later if I want to cover it or something.

depends on how i'm feeling. i get most of my music from last.fm recommendations or if one of my friends tells me about a good artist/festivals. SO INDIE

Well, I don't listen to music with lyrics anymore. Mainly classical and VGM OST's. So I guess I look for something with a 'singing' melody.

It depends. I usually listen to a song twice, canceling out the lyrics at first, then canceling out the music. I then watch it a third time and see how it sounds together.
