I have a few questions about wisdom teeth that i was hoping you guys could answer. First off, how old were you when they started coming in, how much did it hurt, were you put under when they removed it, and what age did you remove it, and also does EVERYONE get them?

Wisdom teeth grow in the back of your jaw, behind molars, ultra painful to have, i thought everybody got 'em, but apparently not. If you don't get 'em removed they hurt and will mess up your teeth.

not everybody gets them - age is usually around 15 - 16 they first show up (can be sooner or later though) mine starting coming in when i was around 17 - im 19 now and still have em - for the most part having them hasnt been painful except like 4 days ago i had 2 days where they hurt a lot to those asking what they are; they are your 3rd molars (the ones at the corners of your mouth) the regular number is 4 but you can have more or less (or none) oh and i only have 3 wisdom teeth (2 on top 1 on bottom) unless the 4th one grew later then the rest

xPiruPandax They're vestigial structures so they have no use in modern times; they were useful back when our jaw shape was different. Your teeth can become unaligned.

not every one has them . they are removed to prevent tooth decay and a deadly mouth disease i forgot the name of. if they are hurting you now go see your dentist or orthodontist ASAP! i got mine out at 17. they completely knock you out so you wont feel anything until 5-7 hours after they are removed.

I had one removed a couple weeks ago (my mom's a dentist, she did it at home) and i'm only 16. Most people get them out around college-time. And there is most definitely anesthesia involved, though i wasn't knocked out. You can't feel anything after the initial few pricks. Not everyone gets them though. Sometimes only 2 come in (2 on the bottom or 2 on the top) or sometimes none at all.

I got them removed 1.5 years ago. Surgery itself didnt hurt. Doctor only gave me a local anesthetic Couldnt eat properly for about a week after.

I dont remember ages, but mine never hurt at all. Many people dont even need theirs removed. Mine needed removing though, and they knocked me out to do it. I remember being asked to count to 10, I did that, and then I was out. Mine gave me no trouble healing, so I had it easy.

i had mines removed this summer. the operation was the IV one, where they put you to sleep with a syringe and use a IV monitor. the doctor was really good with the needle cause i knew he was gonna stick it in but it didn't hurt a bit when i saw it go in. after the shot, my heart rate was crazy but then it slowed down- which was really cool because i knew the shot was working and i could hear and feel myself calming down. then i think i fell asleep but i don't remember closing my eyes. when i woke up my entire bottom face was numb cuz i got all 4 removed and i felt no pain at all throughout the entire recovering process. i found out later that my doctor was top-notch when i decided to go search his name one day.

I have one that came out 2 years ago, but I didn't do anything about it, it's only out a bit, a little lower than the molar
