| You run for school president of your school. There's no competition at all, you have this in the bag. A little girl with cancer goes up to you and says, "Sir, can you please back down for me? I really want to be President of this school." You say, "I'm really sorry, but I was planning this whole thing along to be President. I'm really sorry." She says, "You know I will never look up to you." You look down in shame. Lost, confused, not knowing what to do. You are scared, because if you win the election everyone will respect you, but if you lose everyone will look down on you. You pace back and forth wondering if you should let the little girl be what she wanted to be, for her last couple of years. You tell her you can't let it happen, you need to win because you're sick of losing to everything and to everyone. The next day, she looks at you for a quick second and turns around crying. You think to yourself, what would happen if I actually let her win? Would she really be happy? Will it be worth giving up on all this, just to satisfy her last wish? You sit and think deeply about your decision 5hours before the election its self. You have made your mind. You're going to let her win because you will have more than just this option to win, be successful, and not be stepped on after this last time. You relax and go to the basketball game 2hours later. Game! The basketball game is over. The fans are cheering, the girl is sad, you are sad. You have one last chance to tell her you're leaving the election to let her win. Theres 3 hours left of the school day. You ask your friends what would they do. They all say to let her win because it's her last wish, before she goes away. You're finally 100% positive about letting her win after 2classes. There is not much of school left before the election. You both catch eachothers eyes twice, in the hallway. As you go up into the stage, you look down in sadness. Then you look over to the girl. The crowd is expecting you to say something, your heart is racing, the guilt you will get if you win this election... Later that day, you walk home and see that no one is on the streets of this sad evening. As you get home your dog is no longer excited to see you, your parents no longer greet you with love and care when you arrive home. Your world is breaking apart. Walking into your room, you can't wait to just sit back and relax, overlooking the election of course. The night empty, the air dry, the crickets quite. It is 3:00 A.M. No longer can you hold the guilt of the little girl, so you try to forget it all and go to sleep. The next day, on your way to school you find out that somethings wrong about the path, it is abnormally dark and cold. You look behind you everyone 2minutes to see if anything were to get you and drag you back. Arriving at the school, you look up at the building and see that a piece of the building is gone, but you think to yourself, "This couldn't have been because of me. I'm sure there's a reasonable ex |
