Problem with new MapleStory - BasilMarket Forum

Hi, i stop playing Maplestory some months and now i want to play again. So i download the game , download the patch.. but now when maplestory open it's very long... The game open and i need to wait like 10-20 second for the Nexon logo.. After i choose a channel and when i go on the game lag... It's like 5 sec game normally 2sec lag always like that... With my computer before i was playing maplestory withouth lag (and open with windows media player,msn,firefox,etc..) Now i format my PC for TinyXP(Version Lite of Windows XP) i close all program and maplestory lag... So i'm sure this is not a Memory problem... Please help me i try everything.... Thanks alot ! (Sorry for my english, i'm french ) !

It's not you, it's Maplestory. Everyone probably has the same troubles as you.

I don't think cause my friend play and don't ahve this problem it's weird... When i open maplestory have a black green fix 10-20seconde, nexon logo .. after i see all WORLD but i can see a little FPS Lag(i think its that) and when i enter on a channel without people i got a computer lag.. So it's probably me cause i have the same probleme since some month !

This also happened to me but ONLY when i open maple Takes about 20 secs

yea mine takes a min to open even then it will some times lag so bad i get lagged out and wont be able to play at all i dunno what it is its never done this before so obviously it has some to do with connection issues from the nexon company

meh, my vista 32bit suddenly switches to 800x600 resolution and shows my desktop for about 10 seconds, then that black screen appears for another 10 seconds, with the maplestory cursor in the top-left corner and the vista loading cursor in the right place (moves when i move it), then the nexon logo and then the rest. Seriously though, its just Nexon and their 'more content=more popularity=more $$$$' concept. Too much content to load probably.

It's the game client's problem, not your computer. Some people have 4x the minimum requirements to play maplestory without lag, yet they experience it a lot. Above I think it's because the graphics card is set to original size, so it only displays the 800x600 resolution for Maplestory, and blackens out the rest of the pixels. When you finish playing Maple the resolution is back to original, or if you ALT + TAB. That's what I set mine to because I believe (not sure) that it causes less lag.

The exact same thing happens to me. Does your background on your desktop turn to just black after? 'Cause that happens to me :[

well for me, it's strange. there are 2 types of lagging. there is server lagging, where you can still move but nothing else does. and there is system lagging where everything freezes. I am getting the system lagging. It makes me unable to play at all. first 5 min, the game runs greatk. 15 min later, a little bit of lag. 30 min later. alot of lag. 45 minutes later, so much lag the game just freezes for 5 minutes. if i boss run, first 15-20 minutes of bossrun I spend frozen, then when it's done being frozen, laggy every time I attack. computer specs: 448 mb ram radeon xpress graphics card. windows xp intel celeron D processor alot of freespace (more than half the computer still available. model: 2006 HP Pavilion a1410y viruses: none, constantly checked registry cleaner: once every 3 days defrag: once every 3 days backround programs: as little as possible. which of those specs is the bad link that is causing the lagging
