Guys are supposed to pay for most of the stuff in a relation

Like drinks, dinner, some random little gifts, etc. ...however, I have a knack for alway dating women that come from a much richer family than I do, leaving me being the poor one who can never afford going to the places we want to go. Conveniently most of said women are willing to pay for uncovered expenses. Discuss.

I paid for everything in my last relationship and that got old fast. He found himself very single. My current relationship is 50-50 and I love it.

The thought that guys must pay for a woman's drink etc. stems from the time in which women had no possessions and is no longer valid today... Now it's just courtesy which can easily be abused. I'm a female myself and like to do thinks 50-50 like Eevee, not because I feel "insulted" or something feminist like that, but because I hate being in debt. :S If it makes you feel bad try taking your girl to a place you like to go to- doesn't have to be expensive! She invited you into her world, now you invite her into your world. Show her money isn't always quality. ;) And insist on paying for her just once "in your world". That'll create a sense of equality.

Me and my ex were more like 75-25, but I didn't really mind that much. The only time I paid for everything was on our first date. :|

If you insist on paying for food/beverages/etc., the woman or male in question might get "insulted" due to her "pride". Basically if she says like "I'll pay", i try not to argue too much. It usually causes unwanted problems.

In my relationship I pay pretty much everything. I'm kind of starting to dislike the person right now so at this point I really do not enjoy this and am planning to break up with them soon. However, If you really love a person then you wouldn't mind paying for them.

IMO guys should pay for it. I just found out one of my friends (one grade below me so I rarely see him) is a "heartbreaker". Dates a girl, breaks up, dates another girl, breaks up, etc.

My boyfriend always tries to pay for everything... I always insist on paying for my things though, but then he insists and we get into one of those NO I INSIST battles but usually in the end he just ends up paying for it, lol. >_> But hey, at least I try. xD

The trick is to go on dates that don't cost anything. Like sitting alongside the highway watching the cars go by, whilst recollecting theme songs from cartoons of the old.

I think it should be 50-50..gender doesn't determine who pays more, it's not like girls are poor..
