So I got hacked. I had a good run yeah? Idk what I'll do, quit or stay? Anyways, if anyone knew me, just getting the word out. I don't ask for charity or pity, just for acknowledgment. Anyways, I tried to submit a ticket, but customer service was down (like it would have done anything, right?), so I just posted this on the forum: "Okay, so literally mere minutes ago, I was logged onto a mule character, and upon trying to log back onto my account, I noticed it said I was logged on still. Suspicious, I logged back onto my mule and tracked myself (Ravath), and I was in ch8 Perion. I followed my character there and tried talking. After receiving no response, I waited for a little bit and minutes later the hacker logged off. I tried logging back on to find my PIC changed. Quickly, I changed my PIC and password for my account. However, now I'm missing most of my most precious gear, including a 44str, 25dex Canopus Suit, 12att wgs, pac, 4%str 2%int earrings, and many other items and equips. I haven't spent the time to check my other characters, as I rushed to customer service (which I found was closed), then to the forums. Is there anything I can/you (GM?) can do? Possible single player rollback? I've no lead to who may have taken my items, and have not released my information to anyone (I've always been especially careful with my info). I've been a beta player and been around for years, spending more money than I should, and I'd hate to end the good times here. I produce videos and have lead guilds. So I do hope there is something, anything, that can be done. If there is anything that I should add, please tell me!" lol, 9/9 of my characters are stripped naked. Even the level 50 one. Dropped helms and whatnot, plus used my nx to transfer my belt. Yup. I guess I had a good run . Didn't see it coming.

That's brutal, that guy must have had it in for you. Sorry you're going through this. Just out of curiosity, how did it happen? Getting "hacked" can realistically only happen in 1 of 3 ways: 1) You gave out your info to a 'friend'/'guildie'/'trusted leveling/MON running group'. 2) You tried using hacks/mesos generators (or visited a malicious website of MS hacks) and got a keylogger. 3) You were social engineered- you told someone in MS your real name and they found your MySpace/Facebook/Twitter/whatever page, used it to determine your yahoo/hotmail/gmail 'password reset'/'secret' questions. Technically it _could_ have been some highly sophisticated hacker breaking into Nexon's database and stealing your info. It also technically could have been a brute-force attack if they knew your username and you have a short/common password/PIC. But both of these are beyond unlikely now, so it was likely one of the first 3 options. So as to serve as a warning for others- which of the 3 options provided burnt you? Since it's seems personal, I'm guessing #1- someone you previously shared info with that now doesn't like you...

[/quote] I'm ridiculously strict with my info, and the only current person who knows my info is my cousin, who happens to be at my house at the moment, sleeping in my room. As for #2, the closest hack related thing I've done was accidentally dupe 9 PoTs when I tried to transfer them. #3, if that possible, then maybe. However, I'm good friends with the few who I had friended and I suspect them of nothing. : What happens, happens. I guess.

Aww, wow. I'm so sorry this happened to you. If I was in Scania and I had some mesos, I'd give them to you. I'm not sure what you can do, though. Nexon probably wouldn't answer if you submitted a ticket tomorrow. D: I'd say just keep going and don't quit because you're fifty levels away from 200 anyways.

Ravath Ok, so #2 is out then. With respect to #3- This is becoming more common. If you have a facebook or other social networking page, more and more 'hackers' are trying to use that info to get your account information. Typically it's obvious this happened though, since your email password would have been changed. They reset your yahoo info by answering your 'secret questions' that aren't so secret anymore once you post the answers for all to see on your facebook page. So, if you find that the email you used to register the account has had its password reset recently, that means this was the likely form of attack. #1- Here's where sharing account info with even a single person gets interesting- Your cousin had the info. Ok, so we trust him, but has he ever logged onto your account from his machine, not yours? If so, perhaps his computer is infected with a trojan. That's why sharing account info is so dangerous- you can completely lock down your computer and never use hacks, but what about the other computers that the account gets used on? They might be infected. (I'm not saying this is the case here, just something to think about- even if you give the info to your own mother for her to log on with, how do we know her laptop isn't infected unless you personally inspect it?). I'd be curious if any of his accounts were hit- if so it probably means there was a trojan on his machine. It's certainly an unfortunate case. I hold the scum that do this beneath contempt. I personally don't distinguish theft in real life vs. online theft. Either way you're stealing someone's time, which is the most valuable commodity any of us possess. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Nexon can roll back your character or something.

Don't give up man, don't quit. I made my Marauder because of you, and probably same with many others :O. People who hack each other are evil, I was hacked myself by an ex-bestfriend who was jealous of my Aran. Of course when I found out it was him I got my account back, but don't give up hope. I had lost my Aran to this guy and I didn't even know it was him, I thought I would never have a chance of getting my Aran back, so I made another account and tried to rebuild everything I lost. I think you can do the same.

Umm Sorry but nexon won't do anything to get your items back .. thats why they release nx item like the lock .. soo players can lock their godlike items down for a number for days before it can be drop, sold, trade, mts etc ... Sorry dude, love your videos .. Dont give up you`ll get back on your feet .. jst spend a few hrs a day training and you`ll get the money back .. Goodluck

This is why you never give out your info to people. Don't even give your info to your parents. Especially don't give it to your "friends". This is what happens if one of your "friends" decides to steal your stuff. Not all of your "friends" are good.

I was hacked before...the scariest part about restarting is you think about how easy it could happen again. Make sure you clean wipe your computer if you choose to restart.... Alas, now im back and merched my way well past the point i was at before. Good luck
