Alien contact, good or bad?

Do you think alien contact would be a good thing, or a bad thing? I think it would be a bad thing. Stephen Hawking has a solid point, if you trace back in history there are several events that didn't turn out well.. for example Christopher Columbus finding the natives, it would be similar to aliens finding us.

i remember reading this.. LMAO IMMA NEWRD =3 but.. honestly i also remember seeing sumthin where steven says our only hope for survival to to adventure out into space. to two colliding point of his make me question his logic. and im only 14. lmao. OT: Yes, the outcome could be horrific, but if a civilization is that much more advanced then us, the chances are, they're not gunna be hostile, prolly wunder who/wut we are... but i doubt they'd go to the extent of exterminating us. hopefully. on the other hand, they might be a civilization which lives in peace, and has not created any weapons like we have, so the chances are we'd prolly kill em and take over their world =.= (for the resources)

I sort of see trying to contact with aliens as someone walking straight to an undiscovered animal the size of a lion. Sure, it might just eat grass all day long, but chances are it'll rip your head off.

If aliens come to us, it only means that they've used all the resources on their planet and is planning to use ours.

It all depends. You can never tell for sure for aliens may look like, or how they are toward us.

I think it'd probably be bad. The aliens would have to be a lot more technologically advanced than us, since we have no way of even knowing they exist while they just came for a visit. I also really doubt that they'd come in peace.
