So Remote hack? Info please.

About an hour or so ago, I was at ToT doing the 999 Memory Monk quest. All of a sudden, I get this chat invite from someone I don't know. I stare at the name for a few seconds, and then go and type /find thatignthatIsawhere, and he/she's in ch1. I'd tell you the IGN, but I'm not sure if they were really going to remote hack me or not.. but their IGN kind of forces me to believe they were going to. If I get asked enough, I might say the name.. (Oh, and I didn't go in the chat. I declined and then set it to auto-decline chat invites.) Does anyone have any information about remote hacks? How it works, exactly? Is their any way to avoid being remote hacked? Hm. What else.. Oh, right. Last night when I was in the FM, I heard two people talking about this hack. I totally don't believe this, but they said someone else can control your character, and you watch yourself get hacked.. Lol? I think that was just what one of them thought 'remote' hack meant, but I dunno. Edit: I ranking searched the person. He's a level 30 Warrior, named CCForMePI0x. I had whispers opened, and I'm pretty sure it's not one of my friends on a new account, and not someone that won my auction.. because I don't have any. Lol. Edit 2: I'm just really paranoid.. I change my password after every chat with someone I don't know, even though you most likely can't get hacked that way. xD Edit 3: A while back, I read on Basil that 'remote hack' was when you cc to their channel and then they dc you, somehow get your username/password, and then log on to your account (because they get your IP address or something). I don't really understand how they could do that. o-o I didn't think they actually control your chara, either. o_O

theres no such thing lol, even if you did accept it, they would have to be able to install some impossible hack INTO your computer

I dunno, maybe that person won an auction of yours on Basil. ._. A friend on a new account? Maybe you had whispers blocked? Really, getting a chat invite does not mean you are going to be hacked.

Remote hack require you to (log in through the site I believe) and when you go to CS, MTS, CC, or another map, you'll get dced and the person is on your account though remote hack should be patched now. If not then, VoltesV, Phaxen, QuickWin and etc should be hacked by now. Why would they hack you instead of those people?

I think remote hack is real. A guy the other day asked me to cc so I could trade my craven to him. We were in channel 2 with no lag at all, yet he asked me to cc5 fm 5. When I insisted on trading in channel 2, he just stopped typing and just left.

Dude don't disable anything, it could just be your friends and people from basil like the above say. The only way to do this is, if they asked you to change channel while in the same map so they'll know when you change channel. At that moment when you change channel they spam a packet and change channel too. So it would look like their char was your chair changing channel ( it's confusing I guess ) The packet just change things around and in the end, they can control your char while you can't do anything. Because it made it seems that your char is his char. ( Confusing I know. ) Edit: ehh don't read lol >.> It's just what I know.

I heard if you cc to the channel they tell you, they can get your IP. Edit: @ Above. wut.. lol I think I understand..? o____o. MS is definitely not a safe place nowadays.

There was never a remote hack it was always a myth... if there was y would he want to hack u? y not go after a lvl 200? or close to a lvl 200? even if there was a remote hack in the early days of maple ... i doubt a hacker would leave tiger alone i mean when i was playin in scania i remembered him talkin to everyone.. he even accpeted an invite frm me.

I would go in one of the FM there and change channel, so they won't know when you'll change channel and also they won't be able to spam the packet.

I have guy on my bl named CCforMEPLZ(/S) i cant remeber the last letter. Hes a 18X Nl. It sounds like a similar name, so it might be him. Hope that helps.
