Hello everyone . I'm in year 8, and we had this pretty easy maths test today. However, i think i got a question wrong O: . We were asked to find the equation of a table given to us with x and y values . I wrote the answer as 1/2 x + 2 . I learned later that the answer was x/2 + 2 . Do you think i'll get this wrong for writing it differently ? D:

Let me get this straight, since internet typing screws with math. (1/2 * x) + 2 (x/2) + 2 If it was like that, then you're fine.

Your school sinces a few years ahead of mine. I'm in year 8 and they send me to year 10 classes for math to do Linear Graphs/Equations... Why? My year level is practically stupid....186 Kids in our year level did a test. All the test was, was 1-10 multiplied by 0 (as in 1*0, 2*0, and so on...). So it's a 10 question test where every answer is 0 obviously. 80% of my year level failed this test. 2% got perfect. Right now they're practising and revising a test for how many millimeters are in a centimeter.....

Saying so... Yeah. Integration gets tedious when definite integrals come in. Differentiation only needs you to learn like, 4 rules. But after you learn it... Bliss in all curve/gradient questions.

OT: if the answer is 0.5x, as long as it's written as (x/2) or (1/2)x it should be fine. Just distinguish the difference between those and 1/(2x)

[/quote] His character is in MSEA and he says secondary 4, so that suggests to me that he's from Singapore or Malaysia. Secondary 4 I'd imagine would be the equivalent to year 10 here in Australia. AFAIK, in NSW, differentiation is year 11 and integration is year 12, so we're not too far behind.
