Too much dex?

People keep telling me that dex will soon be irrelevant for pages and that i have too much. I'm currently level 40, and have 50 base dex. I thought that was ok, and i'm not adding anymore, but is it too much?

Not really, just don't put any more points in to dex since acc gear is ridiculously easy to get hold of now. Really 50 dex is still classed as 'low dex' almost 'normal dex' so you're fine anyway. To be honsest if you're that bothered I would just make a new page, it's so easy to get to 40 these days!

I'm not that bothered i was just wondering. I was having it at 40 but being unfunded i couldnt hit things in PQ so i had to raise it. I'm just gonna leave it at 50 and hopefully i can get buy. Yeah your right about that with the potential equips!

Just go for 120 total (as in +70 from equips) and get yourself a good stonetooth sword later on. Don't try to raise everything at once, just do it over time. Pull it off and you'll be doing pretty well later on.

The only thing dex gives after the big bang patch is the ability to equip an ST or NRW... If you're a bw page I'd suggest remaking, but just plan on getting one of those equips if you're a sword page.

[/quote] This comment is kind of pointless, seeing as after BB then there will be no Sword/BW split. Also, DEX allows you to equip Spirit Taru Cape, I believe.

You only need 85 dex for the Taru Cape. Currently I would consider 30 to be normal dex, above that high dex. Plain and simply there are ridiculous amounts of acc gear at this point which completely annihilate any reason to have more than 30 base dex. I've seen single items that add 60+ accuracy, and you'll only ever need about 200 total. Of course, once you get to level 90+ you can wear the fast 2h swords - but you should be adding dex for that when you're level 85-90, not early on. Having 120 dex at level 70 is not gonna let you equip a Stonetooth >_> 50 isn't a huge handicap, to the point where it would be worth starting over... but you will be about 4/5 as strong as a dexless character with similar equips to yours.

did you get resets from event? use them level up to 50. You will get 15 more resets (i was level 65 and i got 15. then i leveled to 70 and got 20 more. 35 resets ftw) then you'll be fine.

I got those sp resets on my other character and i'm 1 level from 50 so we will see. 49 base dex can't be that bad, i see people with more than me. I'm just going to jkeep plowing along and hopefully i can get better in the future.

think about it this way for now. All those people that scroll for dex and acc, you can scroll for w.attk and str.

[/quote] Except for you can't scroll for w.attk or str on earrings, helmets, shoes (excluding chaosed FS), or bottoms. So, it's better to equip dex than it is to add it into AP.

IMO, your dex is OK/good enough to get by, but if your using anything for dex/acc that you could be using something for +str/%str you are doing it wrong IMO. like if you need a +40acc earring to hit stuff, when you could be using a 3/6/9%str earring... although anyone using this setup would be looking for a way to resolve the reliance on an acc earring by maybe scrolling their zhelm, the only resolution to a high base dex is giving your (or someone elses) RL hard earned money to nexon (they won't be doing these AP reset giveaways often, they only probably did it now because too many people would complain that their builds are messed up from the potential stuff being released)

there is earrings for str. And he could scroll the other stuff with.... other stuff. Speed or jump for shoes for example. And get an overall instead of bottom and top. Then scroll that.

Asume he doesn't use nx and seeing his character in basilid he did not get the noobzhelm that helps alot. my tip is to hunt potential equips that help you not hard just kill monsters that drop perferred equip specially since drop rate increased.
