CHAPTER FOUR: A Faithful Encounter We landed inside the landing bay. It almost seemed too easy. Something bad was going to happen; I could feel it in the air. I wish I had known what lay ahead before I went on this mission. Colonel Cohner, everything seems... too easy. David said. I know what you mean, Brigadier General, but that doesnt explain the lack of guards. said Alex as he stepped out of the ship. David, just stick to the orders. Lt. Andy, do you have the blueprints for this ship? I asked. Theyre right here, Colonel. Good. David, take the elevator to the control room, Ill go see if hes in the board. As the two teams split up, I felt that it was the wrong decision on my part. I knew this was too suspicious to be true. Brigadier General David, I repeat, Brigadier General David, we have a visual on a group in the board. Colonel Cohner, there seems to be at least a score of people. Watch yourself David, I know you like to be the hero. This time, make sure you have complete control in the control room. Will do. As we stormed the room, they were all just privates. Worthless scum. The General wasnt down here, but then...where? Colonel Cohner, have you apprehended the General? Control room is empty. Copy that. All clear down here. Ill take these prisoners into the control room. Stay there until everyone is there. Cohn.. someth... is happen.... No ahhh...... (Cuts to static.) David? David! Can you read me? Oh god, group, kill these maggots and get to the control room now! We searched the bodies, and then rushed to the control room. We found the squad. Dead. I rushed to the Brigadier General to see if he was still alive. Oh God, David, are you there? David was hacking blood, barely alive. Cohner... youve got to get out of here. Ask Admiral Boxwala, he knows this threat better than all of us. Cohner, before I go, youre going to be the new Brigadier General. No, dont go, David, we can get you back to base. Just a few patches and Its too late for that. Ive lived a long enough life. Ive done my duty as Brigadier. Goodbye, old buddy. As the last breath of life escapes him, a sudden rush of fear goes down my spine. He didnt tell me what to tell Boxwala. I look around vigorously for some sort of sign. I look in his hands, to find only a pendant. It has the inscription of 01-X. This is what he wanted me to tell Admiral. - Start Log 83 - David, my old friend, hes gone. Damn-it! I knew we never should have gone different ways. I dont know what nightmarish fiend would do that to David. This is not Broa, theres no way. Broa would never attack Bera with such cold hands. - End Log 83 - Colon-- I mean, Brigadier General Cohner, are you okay? Jason asked me. Im okay, we just need to get out of here before I lose the rest o |
