An evil spirit was once sealed in the Underground Temple in Sleepywood by Tristan, a legendary hero who died in place of Manji because of this evil spirit, Balrog. However, Balrog has been resurrected from the Darkness, the reason behind its resurrection is not known. Upon Balrog's death it mentions that one day his full power will be return to him and rule the Maple World again, implying that we will see more of Balrog in the future. Two modes: Easy and Normal Easy: 3 - 6 people, every channel that isn't 6 or 7. Level 50 - 70 Pros: More experienced people Easier to do Cons: Gives 260k exp instead of 560k from normal No scrolls in bonus room Normal: 6 - 15 people, channel 6 or 7. Level 50 - 200 Pros: More people you can invite Drops chaos scrolls in bonus room 560k exp Cons: Harder to do ------------------------------- First of all: The body parts of balrog. The body parts are: 2 hands, left and right, and a head. I suggest going for the head because at around half hp, the hands get sealed. Watch out for the death claws! They are a coma and give 1 hp / mp! Pot quickly! Tip to remember as a member: Only attack and seal the right claw, because the other (left) takes no damage! Why waste time on it? After the right is sealed, head over and kill the head! 2ndly: Damage reflection. If you look at the timer, there's a phrase or word(s) called 'Time left.' If you look at the hp bar, and it gets to the m. It's a warning sign to slow down. When it gets to i, it means it's going to dr and you're going to die. How to count dr: After you see the balrog do dr, count the time. ex. It could be 3:36 when he does that. Take that time and subtract 1 minute from it, so it becomes 2:36. It doesn't matter what number it is. It could be 4:04, and then the next dr time is 3:04. When it's around 1 second before dr is going to occur, tell everyone to 'slow' so they don't blame you and leave the party cause they died. Something you might need to remember: If you have a cleric in your party, tell them to stop healing when you get zombified. Last: Drops: The bonus room is godly. It drops lots of weapons (by a chance) and lots of pots! Yay! When you enter the portal to get outside, you will get your reward of experience from easy or normal pq. Oh yeah, you can only pq 7 times (successfully) per day, which is around 1 level and around 1 - 99.98%! Tips to remember when you're a leader: Tell your party to go in at either 0:45, 0:40, 0:35, or 0:30 to save pots. When you go in at any of those times, start doing your damage, because if you do less damage than you're required, you'll get kicked out. The animation of dr looks something like red lines in the balrog's horns coming up. Watch out for them! Credits: Me, wizet, nexon, and other people who give me tips to edit. I'm not a master at this, and I would like some advice on how to make a guide. If you could send me a mail, that would be great! Happy mapling!

This is really all one needs to know. The Coma and Damage Reflect is what got me. I won't lie. Nice work explaining.

The DR timing isn't accurate. In Easy mode, DR occurs right at the 'm', it doesn't occur at 'i'. Right before it reaches 'm', you tell everyone 'slow'. This is where everyone starts attacking only when Balrog attacks. Once DR occurs, you time the next DR for 55 seconds. For example, let's go with your time: Balrog casts DR at 3:36. Then, the next DR should be calculated at 2:41. At 2:41, tell everyone 'stop'. There is no need to tell everyone 'slow', that is only for the first DR. This is because after the first DR, calculating the next DR casts are absolute and therefore you have no need to say 'slow'. In Normal mode, DR occurs right when Balrog says "Silly greenhorns..." (forgot the rest). Tell everyone to go slow right when he says that because he starts casting DR right there. Also, you forgot to include 'Undead'. In the timer, there are the words 'Time Left'. To the left of that is a mini clock. That is when I would tell clerics to stop healing. And btw, there's already another thread on this.

Whenever I lead a BPQ, I always tell inexperienced players that there are only 5 things they have to know (easy mode). 1. Go in when the timer reads :30 to :40. 2. Melee on hands, Range attack head from the upper left platform. 3. When you're on the bottom, avoid the falling bones that do 1/1. 4. When your map is maximized and the Balrog's HP nears the first 'm' in time remaining, only attack when the Balrog attacks, and not after his horns glow white. 5. Every DR will come about 1 minute after the previous one had started, so don't attack after a minute has passed. That's all the tips I have, and nice guide!

If you're in window mode, then where do you stop on his hp bar before he uses DR?

The hp bar has been shifting lately, so it wont go the the length of the screen, but only a part of it. I have been experiencing this problem. In order to time reflection when this happens is to look at the time. Example (10:43) You will want to slow down right here "0^" and stop here "1^0" My input about DR. Balrog will CAST DR between T and I, or directly on/after T (depends on how fast your team is). These are the basic thing you need to know to finsih a balrog party quest (easy).

You forgot to say hands have lower defense and LEFT HAND DOES NOT TAKE DAMAGE. Most people don't get the point that the left is a decoy and is just screwing with you. I don't know how many times I've had to shout to my party members to come up because left hand doesn't take damage. (I didn't intentionally offend you if I did)
