| Well I'm going to grade eight and my mom got me tutor. Well I got a question that I'm a bit confused on (Homework), so could you guys help me out? If your willing, the question is: Johan has a 300-cm ladder that he leans up against a wall. The safety sticker on the side of the ladder shows that the bottom must be placed between 70cm and 110cm away from the wall. What are the minimum distance and maximum distance up the wall that the ladder can reach, Give your answer to the nearest tenth of a centimetre. Thanks! | You have to use the Pythagorean theorem, of a^2 + b^2 = c^2 Where C = 300 A = 70 or 110 and b = x. So your equations should look like 4900 + b^2 = 90000 and 12100 + b^2 = 90000. Just solve for b. |

| Wait a 3 meter ladder? Isn't that a bit small.... OT: "^" means to the power of. So ^2 would be power of 2 meaning you square it or multiply it twice. ^3 would mean power of 3 aka multiplying it 3 times. |
