Can anyone provide a definition? I need clarification. I know a lot of smart people who wouldn't be considered one. Is it someone who spends all day on xbox live? Someone told me that it wasn't and now I'm confused.

An 'individual', i.e. a person who does not conform to society's beliefs that all people should follow trends and do what their peers do. Often highly intelligent but socially rejected because of their obesssion with a given subject, usually computers. Unfortunately, nerds seem to have problems breeding, to the detriment of mankind as a whole. "Nerds are clearly superior to us in every way.. Let's worship them as our Gods" yay urbandictionary. I don't think there's a true definition. You could be a nerd for your academic abilities or the fact that you really really like anime or you really enjoy pwning n00bs on MW2.
