PP or Assaulter for efficient training?

Well, since the sp/ap resets came out, I was wondering which if I should reset assaulter back to 20 and put PP at lvl 10. I'm lvl 92, train at typhons, decent funds and nicely equipped with good gear. Thanks in advance.

Assaulter's a mobility skill and should almost never be used for training. I have maxed PP+ME and I honestly haven't found PP+ME to be that great of a combo. It simply doesn't drop large enough bags to do a decent amount of damage. It's faster just to BoT and occasionally bomb the mesos the monsters drop, since without a pet you'll almost never have time to pick up your drops anyway.

Hmm. Since the mesos from PP and the mesos they drop after you kill the monster is used to explode a mob, it would at least be more efficient in terms of training?

I actually use assaulter all the time while training. It's a great finishing move and helps you better position yourself inside the mob while using bstep. Because assaulter only activates if there's a monster present, I'll often hold down the key after my finishing bsteps to ensure they're all killed. If assaulter doesn't quickly activate I know they're all dead and I can move on without wasting any time. PP has limited uses and you won't use in in 4th job. I have maxed PP but the only times I use it are during events when I'm feeling greedy lol. So in terms of usefulness, I'd leave assaulter as it is

ME does a LOT more damage if you bomb 20 bags dropped by monsters rather than diluting it with the dinky bronze coins (< 50 mesos) dropped by PP. I mean, if you really have nothing else to use the SP resets on, it can't hurt to try anyway to see if you can make any use out of it. It's not like missing 10 points from assaulter's going to slow down your training, and at level 92 getting 4 levels to re-max assaulter should be a cinch. LampShadow Yeah, I tend to do that too. Comboing's just the name of the game for Shadowers. But like I said: that's almost all mobility. Using it as a finishing move's not going to make much of a difference whether assaulter's level 20 or 30 because the monster should be an inch from death if all its buddies were slaughtered. BoT spam is where all a CB's a damage output is.

But I use assaulter for mobility to get around when training at typhons. I don't know if I should put PP at lvl 10 because training at typhons would mean I gather up a mob and kill them in one position, after they die I round up another and explode that one with the drops from the previous mob. Would that be more efficient?

The mesos dropped from a single mob won't be enough to kill a second mob, except maybe during 2x drop events. And that's a big maybe. You still end up having to take them all out with BoT, and the time wasted mobbing them to the mesos would be better spent just spamming them with BoT.

So maybe I bomb them time to time? EDIT~And would I have to at least put ME to a high lvl for the dropped mesos to be more damaging?

PP isn't worth using at himes or any fourth job training spots currently |

Yes, PP and ME both have to be relatively high level before it's even a passable combo. But even with my maxed PP and ME, I've never found the combo to be useful. LampShadow Even if he goes the route he's thinking about, he'll have maxed Assaulter again by level 96 anyway. And considering I did level 94-116 in about 5 days, that'll probably be like... tomorrow.

You can do perfectly without, but I find the skill too useful to leave it at one. And I heard several centuries ago that PP at Typhons increased training speed between 100 and 107 or something... can't remember where he got that info from, though. :S To Hardshot: I think so, since the Master Levels of some skills are going to be reduced to 10. |

Well I think after the big band, PP might be a bit better, seeing how many times we will hit combined with the ammount of coins it will drop, although I haven't seen any videos to be able to compare the new PP/ME vs normal bot/savage blow/BS ect
