Help Me Find a Laptop For My Birthday!

My birthday is coming up! :D Anyway, Mommy says she'll buy me a laptop since she's tired of me constantly being on hers. I have $550 to spend. The computer will be used primarily for Maplestory Forum Crap Facebook Youtube Music Schoolwork Basic Teenager Stuff I do know a good deal about computers, but I'd like another's opinion before I tell mom what to order. Currently looking at: DELL INSPIRON 15 3GB DDR2 RAM, 800MHz 320GB HDD, 5400 RPM Pentium Dual Core T4500 2.3GHz, 800MHz, 1MB Cache Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD $499.99 I'm afraid that Tier-3 Graphics card will kill this laptop's game potential, but I'm not sure. WILL IT ZAK? If anyone has any other good laptop deals, please post a link so I can consider. I need to order soon! Thanks in Advance!

Any mac computer sold after 2006 should be more than capable of playing maplestory. My guess is that you aren't exactly tech savvy. Otherwise, you would have known differently. If you are using a mac, and you want to play maplestory, I suggest you use bootcamp . If you want to run maplestory on top of OSX, then I suggest you use Parallels , or VMware fusion .

Unless you experience that "glitch", yes, that computer should be able to Zak specs wise. Also, since you are getting an laptop with an integrated graphics, you won't be able to upgrade it. If you could, I would get a laptop with an i3. http://www.shrunkin.com/42340/

Might I suggest the MSi M6275 for $500? P7350, 320GB HDD, and a Mobility HD4570 >=D It'll run Dirt 2 like this , so I would assume that it'll be fine for Zakum.

Hmm, I am sure I've seen that exact same Inspiron 15 the TS listed go on sale on the Dell website for $380 in the past. I have also seen the Inspiron 15 containing the i3 go on sale for $550.

People come here with serious questions about prospective purchases, usually with a budget of $500 or even over $2000. If you want to troll, take it to chat. On a more on topic note; that "tier 3" graphics card. I'm just gonna assume it's the intel GMA4500. Should run maple just fine. Even do zak. I've had maple running on a computer from 1998 or so. It should do just fine. I don't recommend getting a Dell inspiron, though. Basically because I have one myself, I am not too happy with the glossy piano black finish that thing has. It leaves fingerprints very clearly and attracts dust like crazy. Not to mention it can get quite warm IMO. It sits there doing nothing and feels like it over 40 degrees celsius. Plus it feels very breakable to me. No separate bar for stuff like changing tracks, or pausing.

Dell's entry-level Insirons have a cheap feel to them, but I buy them because the price is closer to what the components are worth. They tend to dissipate heat through the keyboard, which can become uncomfortable when typing or using the touch pad, but that's why I use an active laptop cooler. More upkeep than some other brands for sure. I understand where Mejust is going at the Inspirons, but it shouldn't be a reason to discourage buyers when there are some fairly easy things to solve its problems.

[/quote] A laptop is more than the sum of it's hardware, IMO. Especially the cheap feel is something that can't be fixed, and is what I'm most worried about. What if one of my screen hinges decides to break because it's structurally weak?

Trust me if you are going to have the intel media acclerator, it's good enough, tier 3 might sound bad but think about it this way... The rating of these tiers are based on what type of game you are going to play. I can play maplestory on intel media acclerator 4500M without a problem. If you're going to go for Call of duty, Battle field or Crysis, that's when you need a better graphic card, but basic like maplestory, IMA is good enough for your needs
