Help resetting laptop

| Hi i need help restoring my hp pavilion dv6000 to factory settings i have never done this but i need to because my dad needs it for work. In exchange i am getting money towards a new one and the Best Buy near me is having a sale so i could really use some fast easy instructions. I tried google and it just didn't work for me. Also i am looking for the box the laptop came in it has the cd's and stuff this was my sisters laptop but i bought it off her... so yea gotta find that box. |

| There's something called a "Factory Default Disc" that you usually create with the backup program that they usually include. Other times, the CD may actually be included. Just pop in that CD and restore it. Here's a picture of the program on my Acer laptop to create that disc. |

| Your laptop may have a hidden partition that includes windows files. To do so, you press F11 during boot up (before the Windows load screen shows up), and that should take you to an option to Restore to Factory Default (may be worded differently). |

| you can try this, when boot from bios you can press f11 to restore from factory default, btw does your pc still under warratee? If it's does call this number 800-474-6836, tell them u need to restore, cause your kid got virus on the lap top, they will help you, GL! |

| I found it theres no virus on there i had to go to advanced settings and play around a bit. And its virus had one week left like 2 years ago when the motherboard burned out or something lol i was lucky i got to send it in it is resetting as we speak ^.^ |

Likely you selected "System Restore", which restore from the Restore Point files that Windows create periodically. There should be another option most likely. | Format and use Ubuntu :D or just do a Factory reset when you startup, you usually press like f11 when you start up and it will reset it for you Too bad you can't ship it to me, I'm pro at computers |

| if your lap top had no virus, u should be able to press f11 to restore ogrinal factory, cause i had hp dv4 and hp dv5 both work when i try to restore it |
