My motivational speech to all Arans out there!

Okay guys, There has been a large influx of people who are Arans and have lost or is losing their motivation to continue. I've recently wrote this to a guy that started a thread asking if Arans will suck after the big bang and said his level 60 Aran is the furthest he has ever gone and is proud of it. Who cares, I still play my Aran. It's your first character to make it to 60. That's as far as you're gonna go? Strive further! If it's the first char you have to reach that far then why stop now if you believe arans will be bad, right? My aran is the first character I've gotten so far in such little time. That's because I enjoy it. It's not whether you deal high damage or deal the most damage in the shortest time. It's about having fun. Maplestory /IS/ a game and games are meant to be fun. Competition and rivalry is the fire that forces you to keep moving forward. However, Competition and rival should be considered as a bonus to games. A game's main goal should be to provide fun, whether it'd be through quests, the art style, or just the gameplay. A game's secondary goal should be to provide that spark, the intense battles, the competition among players and the rivalry among friends. Now you may be thinking, "why the hell is this girl rambling on?" I'm trying to make a point and my point is that Maplestory is a game. Play it. Love it. Stick with it. Playing and having fun should be your number 1 priority. Having the highest damage, the highest level, the highest rank, the best equips are all competition amongst other players and it should be your second priority. If you set competition and rivalry as your first priority then what will happen when you've reached the limit? When you reach level 200? Endgame.. You can't get any stronger than you already are if you've gotten the highest rank, the best equips, and highest damage and the best at everything. How much further can you go? This isn't life where you can simply alter something and somehow move forward. Once you're 200, you're staying at 200 (unless nexon increases the level limit) However, there is no limit to fun. Fun can go beyond level 200. It can go beyond the best equips. It can go beyond the highest rank. It can go beyond the best of the best. That is why, it doesn't matter whether you are strong or weak on your aran. What matters is having fun. Because fun should be your number 1 priority. P.S. Sorry for the extremely long post. Also, my main is a girl O__O, I only made a male DK because I was bored and was curious how it was playing as a guy xD, plus I do not play the DK anymore. And, as you stated, we're in different worlds x3! EDIT: I also train at Himes and Himes only, never touched a Galloperas in my life xD!.. okay, I killed one but a priest KSed me so I felt unwanted :'C

WOW, I just finished reading EXTREMELY motivational speech and believe me I FEEL MOTIVATED from that, and I`ll bet that many other Arans are motivated from that. LEVEL 200 HERE I COME SLOWLY =D GOOD JOB

Pro o.o Haven't read the whole thing... I'm lazy... Uhh I'm still gonna continue my Aran, this is my first char I ever got to 110(2nd highest is 86) and I've worked hard on it and on all my Equips This is the most fun class for me but I'm kinda disappointed Arans will be at the bottom of the DPM/S chart(According to the stickied thread on Basil) They used to be top 5 or something Dx ... Beh

[/quote] haha, yes, I remember you telling me that in a thread sometime in the past. I also received a PM from an Aran simply to tell me that I've motivated him to continue his Aran. Im happy Im able to help people so hopefully this thread will reach out to everybody, not just arans, who have lost their motivation.

I leveled my Aran to level 73, highest I've ever gotten, when the rollback happened and dropped me down to 59. That along with the big bang, made me quit being an Aran. I put my Steel Polearm and my Maple Karstan in storage. Thanks to you, I feel motivated to remake my Aran. I WILL reach the top! :D

I've never stopped my aran. I've always looked beyond the finishers, at what else we get. I've seen our combos go to 3% per 10 combos, but we get 20% base, so that's still 50%. Not that bad, and I still have a crit ring, so 60% for me. I also see our overswing getting really powerful, and snow charge being improved, 135% damage. The way I see it, we are going to do more damage without requiring combos, although combos will still add a large boost in damage.

high five the finishers aren't used that often anwyay, and like dragonice said, crit is nerfed but snow charge's extra damage and OS' boost makes up for that. We're stronger with lower combo count now, 20% base crit chance and higher OS/snow charge damage. You'll be almost as strong as before the patch, and with % ap you'll be stronger for sure.

Oh yeah I also calced Combo Fenrir's damage with my reg damage range and with the damage range I'd have after the revamp and it's pretty much the same(Each hit is just weaker by 300 or so - Not so bad, but I don't remember if I calced with or without Crit) And my damage range would improve by a LOT after the revamp And yet they're among the weakest jobs at the DPS chart D:
