How can I convince my mom to let me go on a trip?

I'm 18 and my friends and I are planning on going to a trip to Lake Tahoe in a month. I live in LA. 10 of us would be going including me, and all of us except one person is 18. The one person is 17 almost 18. There would be no parents. My mom is pretty laid back but recently she keeps giving me talks about drugs and drinking alcohol, which she thinks I don't do but she's still acting suspicious. The farthest trip I have ever taken was to mexico by myself but I had family waiting for me. On the trip to Lake tahoe, we would take two cars and I might be one of the drivers if she lets me go and/or drive. My friend and I both have 2 years of experience and no accidents. The drive is 8 hours and we would be there for 4 nights and 5 days. How can I convince my mom that the trip is safe and to let me go? Do you guys have any past experience or stories about how your parents let you go on trips? P.S sorry if I made any type-o's, typing on my iPhone.

dude...your 18...just go lol im 18 and every now and then ill just leave and wont come home for weeks. actually here in about 3 weeks me and my friend rena are goin to NY lol where i'll be stayin o.o wait nvm ill be stayin in nebraska of all places but we are goin to NY first. point is, your an adult now. its not like she can call the cops cuz they will just say "hes 18..he can do that..." lol

Unfortunetly for me, My mom is old fashioned and is strict about when I leave and come back. Which is why I need excuses to go XD

I'd rather not explain because I don't want to sound like abovetheinfluence.org or a wikipedia page
