(Possibly) Getting a dog soon

My family's about to/thinking about getting a dog, but we really have no idea as to what kind of dog to get (and to adopt from a shelter or not). Preferably mid-sized to a large dog. Any recommendations?

I'm in arizona and I've had a husky for three years, not dead yet lol Edit: If you adopt one, its probably already adjusted to the weather

if u adopt a husky near you it probably has adjusted to one or get something nice that suits your family. Just get those virtual pets instead if you cant decide.

get one out of a shelter, that way you can save a puppy from being put to sleep and it's probably cheaper also take a mix, pure-breed races don't live as long as mixes and they usualy have a genetical disease, depending on which race it is, that will eventualy give him a painfull end
