MS character as facebook picture?

Whenever i go on maplestory site, i always c people with facebook pics that are maple story chars. I find this pretty hilarious. I mean facebook is used to express yourself in reality not your virtual avatar, unless ur virtual avatar is your real life....0.o. thoughts?
