Water in my iPod touch screen?

Err. I somehow got water in my iPod screen and now it's clearly visible though the screen. The water sensor inside the headphone jack area is still white but the screen is the main problem. I think that some water was absorbed through the Menu button and went under the glass that covers the screen. Here's what I think what happened Yesterday, I went to an amusement park with some friends and one of my friends asked to put a slushie cup in my bag. She cleaned it with water at a sink so it was still wet and not knowing that my iPod was in my bag, I put the cup inside. Then over time, it probably got in. There wasn't TOO much water per se, but I think it's around 2-3 mL? It discoloured the sides of the screen and it has colours.. Kind of like.. oil..? I'm just wondering if putting it in rice will work OR if Apple will accept the iPod to be repaired seeing as the water detection isn't red. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks~ ^^ EDIT: I don't know if this is in the right section or not

IF you have rice,,, let it sit in a bag for 24hours and should remove the water

Are you sure thats how the screen got wet? The same thing happened to my friend but I'm pretty sure it wasn't from a cup with water. He doesn't have his iPod anymore, I don't think. I hate how his dad and mom try to buy him a bunch of stuff to win him over. (They're divorced). And now, they don't even punish him for anything. I just felt like I needed to get that out, I hope the rice works!

I never actually took it out during the trip
