my thoughts on the movie..what in the world is M. Night Shamalamadingdong on? 1. it shouldn't be based in an apocalyptic world, thats just dumb 2. nobody gives a crap if you put a wave of water up, unless you do something with it, then its pointless 3. avatar's DO kill people, thats their job if someone is hurting the land or people. the avatar is described as the embodiment of the earth in a person, so you mess with the earth, the avatar's gonna open up a can of whoopass on you 4. fire benders make fire on their own no matter how experienced they are..they don't need some fire nearby to do what they want with it. 5. M. Night Shamalamadingdong shouldn't direct anymore movies 6. actually follow the characters in the show, sokka is a sarcastic boomerang wielding warrior, Aang (not uung) is a twelve year old kid, not some serious person 7. when you make a 3D movie, actually use 3D, when i went to see the movie, there was hardly any difference between the 3D movies and 2D movies. 8. the dialect is horrible along with the storytelling 9. look at rotten tomatoes..it got a 7% lol

Aang doesn't want to kill people because the monks he grew up with taught him to respect life (he's a vegetarian). Unless the movie stated that Roku/avatars were peaceful benders who sat down for a cup of tea and negotiations.

LOL I haven't seen it yet but I think I will be seeing it this weekend. My dad wants to see it xD mostly for the special effects. But, he doesn't even know much of the storyline ._.

They got the character pronunciations wrong. It's like, "Oong." It's nit-picking, but I tell you, if they can't pronounce the names right, then you're in for such a treat. Yes, the 3D fails. I am not kidding, it makes the red/blue glasses look like a masterpiece. Suddenly they started to have the Watchmen/The Dark Knight blue treatment. When I think of this movie now, I think of blue hues saturated in darkness. It is depressing to look at. This is supposed to be a movie based on a TV show aimed at kids . I know that the TV series had far more color than this. The acting fails because the script fails. The dialogue is typical stupidness that you may find in your typical recent M. Night Shyamalan movie. Only because he always directs the movies he writes. It's like they put the first season of the TV show together, but condense it into a 90-ish minute movie. It explains why throughout the movie, the narrator has to do most of the storytelling while the camera is focused on pointless shots. Ugh.
