Claiming ownership of a map?

This problem has to be resolved.. I don't understand why every has to be so uptight about a map. Just because you're in a map first doesn't mean it's your map. Every map is open for everyone to use. If players happen to come along and kill "your monsters" you can ask them nicely to change channels, but you can't expect them to follow your orders, because You do not own the map . Yeah, I understand it can be pissing when you have 4x exp or something. But there's nothing against the rules of being there attacking monsters that are to meant be shared by all . I myself just change channels till I can find one that's open because I'm not an ass . If they want to be left alone to do their training you should respect that. If someone asks you to change channels, you should if they were there first. If they tell you to change channels, don't. It never killed anyone to say please Another problem that comes hand in hand with this is KSing. If you're there simple to level, then it's okay. They have no right to force you to change channels. If they DON'T ATTACK YOUR MONSTERS (Monsters you are already attacking) it's okay. Because by very definition KSing is stealing kills , and how do you steal "their" kill if they're half way across the map . So don't come complaining to Basil or your friends or Nexon because someone is training in the same map as you. And try to be respectful and change channels if they ASK ~I in no way have said KSing is not part of the ToS. I know it indeed is.

The map belongs to no one but who has copyright to it also known as NexonCo. HQ is in california, have a problem go talk to them. I would cc though just to be respectful but if the map is big enough for more than that one person share it. Not hard.

Actually, it's more like this. There's an unofficial code of ethics stating that the person who was first inside the map owns the map until he/she leaves. However, there is nothing that enforces this code, and breaking it brings almost no repercussions. It's just implied that you should leave the person in peace if you do stumble upon a used map, but many people don't care for politeness.

Yeah but the whole up tightness comes from the plethora of people who do come in and ks. Other players come in and tell you to cc. I've had people come in and I asked "Change channels please, the lag is making it hard for me to train" and they "lol'ed" then told me if I'm lagging I shouldn't be hunting in such a good map, then Ks me till they got bored. Every time someone pops up in a map I've been training at forever I get wound up because you never know what kind of player your going to get. Also some people might just be in a bad mood. After having 5 or more rude players coming in and then some one else comes in I can understand why someone would be less likely to be all "Please" and "Thank you"

K why dont u go share a channel with a bishop. as long as they dont attack ur monsters, it doesnt consider ksing.

It doesn't have their name on it. So when people barge into the map I'm using, I offer half of the map and/or party.

[/quote] This. it's how i've always operated.... unfortunately, between the likes of CPQ, and the mini dungeons everywhere, the attitude is dwindling to the point where it's nearly non-existant.

People should be respectful enough to leave the map when someone asks. I honestly can't ks, even if I were able to. It just seems like I would feel really guilty, especially since I have to deal with it.

Like gallopera maps. 90% of the people will change channels. While the other 10% just stay and get you mad and KS you.
