I didnt say happy fathers day to my dad

Well today i didnt say happy fathers day to my dad... now here is the back story. So yesterday i decided i will sleep late so i was just in my room watching some shows and at like 11:45 my dad comes screaming to go to bed and yeslled at me. SO i just slept. Next day My dad wakes me up at like 8 and i am like its summer now... school ended he is like you have to go somewhere with your grandma and i said i dont want to he then screamed and yelled at me again. So i got up did my stuff. then i went in my room turned up computer on to charge my phone/ipod touch and put some music on and He comes and then smacks me and threatens me that he will take my computer away. because i was taking too long So i went to the place with my grandma. and now when i am finally home.i went to room watch some TV and he yells at me again. Cuz i forgot to put my sneakers where its supposed to be. Here is the Summary: My dad has been screaming and hitting me the whole day. Now i dont even feel like saying happy fathers day. So basil why is he acting like this today

I didn't either. My family don't do stuff like that, and my father doesn't mind at all. Maybe if you buy him something nicely he will change his mind about you before he loses it. Just make it quick.

My father gets irritated when I buy him stuff, particularly when it's for "made-up holidays" like Father's Day (his words, not mine). He even asked when "child's day" is. My mother said it's everyday. I agree with whoever said he provides for you - go to him, and tell him "Happy Father's Day!" Be the bigger person.

i don't understand why there even is a father's/mother's day lol if you appreciate your parents enough to celebrate it you might as well do it more often than once a year i'm not too find of mine so they use holidays like this to make me feel like a horrible person because i don't tell them HAPPY MUDDERS DEY!

yeah well neither did i, mostly because i don't keep contact with my dad though i don't get these parents' days. like, as a child, i can appreciate my parents every single day with little acts of kindness and helping them out around the house, which in the end totals to a big deal. but then they just give a specific day for it and it's like, "oh well, i can do this every other day of the year, i don't have to do it on this one." i'd rather just show my parents respect and appreciation every single day, rather than do it on just one day. @two posts above: thanks for beating me to this explanation and explicating it in a shorter version than i did
