Balance patch is suppose to do more than just nerf the Ultimates. Shadow partners damage decreases Hero's Brandish now only attacks 1 monster Hero's get a new skill that deals 180% Hero's shout gets a boost to 340% And if you haven't looked at other threads about the Ultimates they are getting a giant boost. As I'm aware of currently, Gen 20 will hit 1100%. This is said by recent posts of the KMS patches. ^^^^ Just some quick info. vvvvvv Getting on with the topic Look at the magicians ability to do anything from level 8~119. Yes Ice Lightnings can do a lot of damage at 3rd job, Fire Poison can train at multiple maps. What can Priests do? Since the beginning of MapleStory Priests were mostly restricted to train with other classes such as the most popular one, Dragon Knight. Only recently items that most priest couldn't afford were now affordable allowing the priest to do many solos such as Gallos and Himes. If you think of it, giving one of MapleStorys most powerful move to a class that is always on the bottom is pretty fair IMO. Leeching has already been worked on as we all know. Rate is now 8:2. 8 being the player who deals most damage, 2 being the leecher. There is still leech going on but it has been nerfed. All people talk about is Genesis, why not Blizzard or Meteor? This is just because bishops also have Holy Symbol making them the number 1 leechers for time. Leech Complaints are based on Jealousy of other classes that can't do the same thing. The majority of the population who complains about the "Leech" and the "Nerf" doesn't understand half of these topics. They look at the outside and not any further and make a decision based on that. But now lets look into the world of leeching.... Classes (4th Job) - Leeches Arch Mage (Fire/Poison) - Skele, Harps, WS, Jester Arch Mage (Ice/Lightning) - Skele, Harps, WS, Jester Bow Master - Anego Bishop - Skele, Harps, WS, Jester Buccaneer - Anego, Bigfoot Corsair - Anego Dark Knight - Bigfoot Hero - Bigfoot Marksman - Anego Night Lord - Anego Paladin - Bigfoot Shadower - Bigfoot *There are more that I did not add, This is not the full list. This is just to get an idea of many places* Now. Seeing that list it is obvious that the magician class can only do leech that is worth something over time while other classes are able to kill boss monsters like Anego and Bigfoot. Looking at the list people may freak out saying "I can do more than that!" yea dude, a whole lot more than that... Magician class is most efficient at those types of leeching compared to the other classes. This makes the magician class the center of the leech complaints. High level players might also complain about the magician class due to their ability to train fast because of the Ultimate attacks. Well to the people who do complain at that... FangBlade anyone? Anything to add? Feel free to comment.
t43l : Evidently a lot of people care. However, I bet that most of the people complaining are merely jumping to conclusions. Assuming that just because a few skills are getting nerfed their character will become obsolete and no longer will they have a reason to play. I say that if you're that unwilling to accept change, you should probably revert back to playing a Super Nintendo. Getting pissy over ultimate cool-downs? Really? Look at it from a non-magicians perspective. Genesis is a skill that allows a character to safely stand aside while still maintaining the ability to annihilate surrounding enemies. Even at its lowest skill level, it deals a hefty amount of damage that is incomparable to other classes. Perhaps half a minute is a tad extreme, but the idea of adding a cool-down time isn't as unfair as you think. In three seconds genesis can kill fifteen monsters. In six seconds it can kill thirty and in twelve seconds it can kill sixty. By allowing a Bishop to continuously spam genesis, this means that in half a minute ONE HUNDRED and FIFTY monsters can be killed. This explains why magicians level as fast as they do and how they're one of the most popular leeching classes. Have you yet to think that maybe since leeching wasn't the way Wizet (or Nexon) had intended for players to level, that maybe this cool-down is another attempt at minimalizing leech? Regardless of their reasoning, lets compare a Bishops ability to kill 150 enemies in thirty seconds to a Night Lord's ability. With shadow partner and triple throw, these characters can throw six stars a second. Sixty stars every 10 seconds and 180 in half a minute. Since these stars can only attack a single monster, instead of fifteen, it gives them a huge mobbing disadvantage. Same with Marksmen, Dark Knights, Corsairs, and all the other classes who are limited to single-monster attacks. Even if you're fast and powerful enough to kill two enemies every second, that's only sixty. Not even half the amount a Bishop or Arch Mage can pull in the same amount of time. It pretty much doesn't matter how fast other players can kill monsters, because in this situation quantity is more important than quality. 150 > 60 : Is that fair? Nexon is attempting to balance out characters so even if one is more overpowered than the other, it's not by a ridiculous amount. Dual Bladers are getting nerfed, so isn't Aran. Adventurers just got a nice boost and we're possibly in the process of getting a whole new game revamp. If you're selfish enough to feel like quitting because of these changes, then maybe the MapleStory community will be better off without you.
Now just tell this to all the ignorant mages whining. In addition, Mages get a new magic formula that base their attack by %, amped up a lot of their skills, and there is also a rumor that slow-casting skills such as Angel Ray are going to be made faster.

What can priests do? Hmm... -Be the most desired class to train with due to HS -Train without the use of ANY potions. -Train at most places with element advantage(the best training spots are always holy weak for some reason) -Take less than half the damage of every other class with invincible and resistance. -Require absolutely no funding while still leveling at a decent speed. -Be, hands down, the most efficient soloer in 3rd job. Yeah, that's not enough. Priests deserve more! Nexon is so unfair for putting a cooldown on the most OP skill in the game!1 @Above: Bishops can and do boss regularly.

It's funny how most of the people that are saying to calm down are Arans. And they're obviously saying that becuase they'll still be the strongest job out there. So before you people say that it's just a cooldown think again becuase most people like myself made Archmage/Bishops for the cool ultimates that you get at level 120, And EVEN if we do get a boost in some of our skills it's still going to be hard to train. But i mean it's nexon they're nerfing everything. What's next pay to go into a portal? if they do make a cooldown on the ultimates it will be the most unnecessary thing nexon could have done.

Arans are significantly nerfed, they certainly won't be too high on a DPM chart afterwards, but they will probably the best mobbing class in the game with a decent party skill to boot. Which is probably what Nexon had in mind for them in the first place.

Ultimates were retarded from the start. I have no idea why they ever thought it was a good idea to add a godlike mobbing skill like that without any limits to what should be the game's only 100% SUPPORT class, bishop. It makes no freaking sense.

Even with the damage increase of our 1v1 skills, and the revamp of Big Bang, we still can't match up to the DPS of most other classes. And most other classes train at bosses like Anego, Bigfoot, and Royal Guard with their 1v1 attack skills like hurricane, strafe/snipe for MM, TT, Brandish, etc. any
