| Hey everyone! Alright, I have always heard argueing and such about what a class' "purpose" or niche is in the game, whether some classes have a purpose at all, and other such discussions. I have decided to create my own list of the classes and my opinion on what their purpose SHOULD be. I am also talking about 4th job classes; 1st and 2nd job don't matter much at all, and 3rd job is a transition faze. I am sure most people will agree that 4th job is the one where potential actually starts to matter and clear roles start to emerge. You are free to agree or disagree me, but if the latter please state why in an orderly manner. I always see to get banned flaming back at someone, so please don't attack me first. =( Beginner Not much point at all. I suppose if one wanted to be more unique, they could make this.... Dark Knight A supportive class that is also decent at mobbing. Shouldn't have very good 1v1 ability, and should be relatively weak. Most people feel that even though they get HB, they should still be super-powerful, and I have always disagreed. Paladin Should be the worst class at Neutral monsters, not including Mages. However, they should cream everyone by just as much at elementally weak mobs. I also say they should some Party-Healing ability, or an ability to actually tank damage better. In short, also supportive, but very strong on ele-weaks. Hero The best Melee-Attacker class. Should be the best Warrior at Neutral monsters, but should lose out at any Ele-weak to Paladins. Brandish should be kept a 4th job skill, and this dumb Brave Slash or whatever should just go...Would be great at small mobs of Neutral enemies, as well as most bossing. Bowmaster Supportive with SE, as well as one of the best bossing classes. Should keep their DoT with Inferno, and should have crappy mobbing and training abilities compared to other classes. Essentially a bossing class with a nice party skill. Marksman Should be a great TRAINING class. I don't think their superiority in bossing to BMs at most levels is very fair at all. Pierce should rock and get them one of the best training speeds, and they would still have Sharp Eyes for party support. They should NOT be an amazing bossing class, but should still be decent. Night Lord Should have terrible mobbing capabilities (like the BM), but should have great mobility and 1v1 with Apples and SE. With these, they should be the best bossers with Corsairs. Without them, they should be only better than Paladins on a Neutral monster, and would be tied on Mobs. Shadower Weak bossers, but support with Smokescreen, get Invincibility frames, and have really good training speed. In parties can support to some extent, but are also decent attackers for mobs. Corsair No support at all, but should have #1 DPS in all 1v1 scenarios. Should have alright mobbing, and medium training speed. The point of this class is to be a boss attacker that doesn't rely on expensive potions or Party buffs. Buccaneer Supportive Melee Class with Sp |
