Africans and Gays?

I don't mean to be racist or anything, but I thought this was stupid. 70% of African Americans voted Yes on Prop 8. That means they voted to get rid of gay marriage. So their race has been through so much discrimination and unfairness, yet they're working to stop equal rights. Seriously, their grandparents and parents and so on have been discriminated on since Europe came into Africa, yet they feel no sympathy when another minority is getting less rights than others. Thoughts? Also, for those of you who are going to say this is racist, tell me how.

Also, it's not just them, 50% of Asians voted yes on prop 8. I'm Asian, so don't take this the wrong way. One of my half Japanese friend's family voted for prop 8. In fact, they even protested and missed school for prop 8. Just 5 decades or so ago, however, us Japanese were being sent away to internment camps. *sigh*

African Americans are more likely to be spiritual and therefore deeply involved with the church. Most churches in CA preach against homosexuality, after all, we ARE a republican state.
