| So after coming back to maple, and making an Evan, i'm kinda confused about the Mastery books. My Magic Guard is only able to go up to 5, and I heard you have to buy the mastery books in the Cash Shop. So 2.5k NX for a Magic Guard Mastery Book, staff scroll and circle winded staff. Sounds alright. But first, how do the MB's work? I'm kinda confused here... |

| It's 2k for just the book and scroll. I'd suggest getting that. If you plan to continue your evan, get the level 60 mastery books as well for 4k (for both). You have to put SP into the skill and get it to 5 *then* double click the mastery books. the book may boost your skill to level 6, and the rest of the points you have to put in. |

| For all mastery books, you need the skill to be level 5, and then you double click it. But for the Booster and Critical books, I suggest you get both skills to level 5, then buy the Critical Booster Package, and use both books then. I personally used this build: Dragon Thrust: +19 (19) Crit: +5 (5) Booster: +5 (5) (use books) Booster: +1 (6) (its speed is +2 at this point) Critical +10 (15 Maxed) Booster +9 (15 Maxed) Thrust +1 (20 Maxed) and the rest into Slow. |

 | Hmm, above build is really interesting. Anyone have comments on it? Since you get a strong mobbing skill (no charge) it would be pretty effective no? I would get 1 booster before thrust. |

| get 1 lvl boster 1 lvl crit and 1 lvl thrust 1st then max crit (your dmp will thank you) then booster 11 then thrust then finly slow. booster 11 is max speed and thrust only helps you vs neutrual mosnters you will be using ice breth for the next 20 or so lvls most likely (red kents is good exp) then u will swich to fire breth when u get it. thrust is more of a movement i want u thier skill. |

| magic guard reduces all dampage then these dampage goes into your mp and 20% is left to hit your hp... and yes you can use mobbing but i always use fire circle to lure mobs into massive crowd then clean them up with ice breath+slow comboness and if they are alive and moving... i knock back with thrust back in mob and kill all and when there is one target or lone targets. i always pick e'm off with magic flare and killing wing :D |

 | Ah I see. Because of your training on red kents, the crit will end up being much more useful with ice breath. So I presume thrust is always used as a utility rather than for its damage? |

| thrust is good for mobbing sometimes....in red kent when u r at corner getting pinned u need thrust to push..and when they r frozen u need trust to keep them in a group. ^^" i went booster >thrust>critical EDit: note i change my mind i got confuse...go booster 5crit to use book and then thrust...useful in red kent>crit max>slow =p slow is fun keke^_^ |

And thrust is pretty good for both damage and utility for a while (later on, pure utility). When training on Wind Raiders, I alternated between the two to freeze them, keep them in a compact mob, and damage them well. Although, there are a few spots where spaming one skill is better than using both. Then at kents, you use Thrust to push them into larger groups if needed and then spam ice breat, since ice breath is much stronger on ice weak.Plus Critical is fun here. It is normally a 15% boost in DPM, but that adds up when you factor in that 150% elemental boost (150% * 115% = 172.5%) |

You would be better off maxing Critical first since it makes Ice Breath stronger, and you would be training on elemental monsters, like Red Kents, anyways. In situations like that, Thrust isn't worth maxing before Critical. |

Followed by maxing thrust, maxing slow and finishing booster. What do you guys think of getting booster to 5 and using the mastery book (making it 6, speed -2) and then maxing critical? |

It's not too useful of a skill, and I never use it. As for getting 6 points on Booster and then maxing Critical, that would be fine too, if it's only 1 point. It's just important to keep your damage as your first priority, and speed second at that level. |

| my build so far has worked great and def reccomend lvl 1 booster > 6 critical (use book since from 5 to 6 it jumps 10%) > 6 Booster (get to speed 2) > max critical > 11 booster > max thrust > max booster > max slow |

In situations like that, Thrust isn't worth maxing before Critical. [/quote] I have to disagree. The utility of thrust is very useful on both Elementally weak and Neutral monsters. Even at Kents, I am alternating between thrust and ice breath. Ice breath freezes, meaning I take little damage, and thrust keeps them all in a nice large mob to maximize Icebreath without having to move around a lot. Besides, Ice breath with Maxed Critical on a kent is only 207 Att compared to Thrust's 184. A quick thrust is well worth it to gather 6 into a nice mob to maximize Ice Breath's damage. Besides, I wouldnt suggest kents untill you hit level 70 (you still occationally miss them, but not too many times), and you'll have both Thrust and Critical maxed in a standard build or almost have critical maxed at this point with my build. And slow? Its useful, but the other 3 skills far surpass it. |
