Home-made is the word that goes in the blank. Me and my dad's first attempt at making a rocket car! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZwFVGQ6d38&sns=em We attached one of our toy rocket engines onto the top of one of my old toy cars. Cool.

Yes, it does. Also we pointed the engine down so it did a fronflip. We made it w/o any research or anything. :/

BobRHelps to know a little "rocket science" when designing stuff like this- ever read any of the Estes tech stuff..? It would help figure out what the problem was. I had the same problem with thrust vectors when I tried putting a "D" engine in the shuttle bay of an AMT Enterprise model. Made a great pinwheel. Of course, I rather expected it would. Moving the engine to the Impulse Engine housing (at the back of the saucer) improved things a great deal. One of my more "fun" designs involved gluing a cherry bomb to the top of a booster engine (no delay) with the fuse cut way down and inserted into the top of the propellant, and gluing cardboard fins to the side of the engine, then putting the launch tube right on the side of the engine (all of which was because I never figured on getting any of it back). Perfect flight, and made the biggest boom I think the neighborhood has ever heard. In fact, these days of anti-terrorist sentiment, I don't think I'd take the chance. Don't want to meet any SWAT team members like that.

I would have probably tried the same exact thing first if I were trying to build a rocket car.
