No summer Job =/

I am so desperate for a summer job right now i have applied to many many fast food restaurants, clothing stores, supermarkets and even applied to places no 16 year old kid should be applying. Over 50 applications and 30 resumes handed out, and no response from anyone, no calls, e-mails. I've tried government funded programs, monster.ca and even outsourced to every family friend i know I believe my resume is done quite well i have a list of volunteer experience. It's hopeless, it's so dispiriting when all your hard work goes to waste I really do not want another summer of lazing around or volunteering, i'm sick of it. Words of encouragement anyone? btw: legal age to work is 16 in my area

Wow, I haven't applied for anything yet and I was hoping to get a summer job too. Uh oh! I better hurry~ OT: Ask your family/friends what they think your weaknesses are and what your resume is lacking. If you go to interviews, how do you portray yourself? Smart clothing? etc.

Chances are, you won't find a job. Economic recession + lots of unemployment = everyone rushing in to get that one job opening Not lots of companies jump at the thought of hiring a 16 year old.

@bluewfflz No places have even bothered to give me a chance for an interview yet. It's pretty retarded when many places require some sort of actual work experience so where the hell are you suppose to start?

Job-hunting can be very discouraging sometimes. I once applied for a dishwashing job, and the manager told me that I didn't have enough experience. I seriously felt like punching him in the face. Did he ever read my application? Clearly states I worked in a bistro for three months washing dishes and prepping food. Best advice I can give is, don't go job-hunting in groups, don't give up, research the job and company you're applying for before the interview, prepare for the interview, and exude confidence like no tomorrow.

Did you have that you were bondable? if you, than go do that. MOST places won't hire someone whose not bondable.

I just got a job that I started last weekend. For me it wasn't too hard. If you know any friends with jobs, try and get them to mention you. My friend put in good word for me at his work and they hired me with really like no interview.
