| Hello everyone, this is something I thought I would just throw out there. In KMS, the Evan class was released on December 17, 2009. Their balance patch, which contained all three parts in the KMST patch plus the Adventurer rings, was released less than a month later (21 days to be exact), on January 7, 2010. In GMS, the Evan class was released on March 31, 2010. Today is May 29, 2010, almost 2 months (59 days) and several amusing patches later, yet there has not even been a mention of any kind of 'Balance' patch pertaining to the Adventurer classes whatsoever. This has been my theory for a while, but I am under the impression that GMS is likely to not see any kind of 'balance patch' anytime in the near future if any at all (I suspect the ladder). If I remember correctly, GMS has recently been trying to catch up to KMS by speeding up their patches, which explains the why GMS only had to wait 4 months (112 days) for the release of Evans, while KMS had to wait 6 months (161 days) for their release (this is all with respect to the Aran release date in their respective servers, which was on July 9th, 2009 in KMS and December 9, 2009 in GMS). Also, one should mention that GMS received many of the patches that KMS received at the same time they did, or close after (Netts pyramid, Durability items, PSOK, Mirrors, etc.) Personally speaking, I don't really feel that a balance patch is necessary, so it really won't come as a surprise to me if this balance patch is never implemented. I do not believe at all that there currently exists a class that is overpowered or unbalanced, or whatever you want to call it (I have a lot of evidence if you want to argue this point, but we can save that for another day). If I give Nexon credit for anything, it has been their ability to keep all the existing classes balanced and all equally desireable (of course, the majority of this credit goes to Wizet, not Nexon, much less Nexon America ...). My feelings are, that the balance patch was instituted in KMS because the player populations in that version are seriously off balance; the purpose of the patch was to make certain classes more desireable, and thus, put the player populations back to a more 'even' amount. I suspect that the patch was also proposed to Nexon America, but for one reason or another, they decided to hold off on it, or decided that it was not worth the effort to institute the patch into the game. Call Nexon 14ZY M3444R v/#0R35 all you want, but each of these patches require a lot of money to implement, and if they're not going to bring a return that pulls a profit, it's not worth doing no matter how idealistic the company may be. In either case, I'm certainly not saying I'm right, because I have been wrong about many things in the past, but I figured this is something everyone interested in the 'balance patch' may find worth knowing. |
