Iphone and sim cards ~~

In a fortnight...lol, I always wanted to say fortnight, I'm leaving for the US. And, I'm wondering if you can just remove the sim card from the Iphone and use it as a Itouch instead. It's locked, so I can't get a temporary sim card in the US. I currently don't have a pin of any kind to open the iphone to obtain my sim card to check whether the phone will work without so I'm asking you guys =) Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can. I'm not sure if WiFi works, but I'm pretty sure it will.

Which operator do you have your iPod touch locked to? If you have a Telia iPhone, it will work with AT&T sim-cards in the United States. If you have a Telenor or 3 iPhone, then I believe that you can't use it in the United States. However, you can just unlock your iPhone. There are some places down in Farsta that do it for 100 SEK, but I wouldn't trust them. You could also try and unlock it yourself with a jailbreak.

[/quote] You could airplane mode it, but I'm to afraid to accidentally turn it on again with the sim card...and shoop da woop, I get a phone bill lol @internetcaf� I unfortunately have telenor =/. And there is no possible way yet to unlock a 3.1.3 firmware =/

Oh, and I found out that you can use Sprint sim-cards if you have Telenor.
