I'm considering buying a PSP from a friend

Just so I can play MHFU and MHP3. ...Well okay, maybe not just those two. Tales of VS, Yggdra Union, some of the PSP Tales ports... Would it be a good idea? He's offering it for 100, which I'd like to haggle (which I tried, to no avail) but can accept if he's really adamant on it. For those of you who are asking, he's an Asian with a fairly old model. That should tell you enough about what's inside the PSP.

You can buy a normal PSP refurbished at gamestop for like $100. So unless you can haggle, I wouldn't take it.

Haggle, and see if it isn't the latest version. Chances are you might be able to make profit by getting a CFW.

The only way its worth it is with custom firmware. If you're against pirating, I wouldn't suggest it

If the PSP doesn't have CFW or is a 3rd generation PSP, I wouldn't buy it. But that's just me, and I'd rather be able to play Peace Walker, God Eater, and Birth By Sleep.

I believe PSP's are going for 100 used in EB Games? If the condition is good then go for it.

there are rumors that a PSP2 (psp successor) is going to be shown at E3 2010 (June 15). you could possibly wait for that one. it might be backwards compatible and even 2 analog sticks
