Maker Skill ruined Maplestory to an extent.

Everyone probably uses it, infact most of GMS's godly equips are from the Maker skill. Maplestory has reached to the extent that you can blow up thousands of equips without worrying because they are easily accsesible. Sure, Maker has made alot of things possible like the introduction to Reverse items or the ease of making perfect equips. Even I take advantage of this skill knowing that it hurts me inside. What has it cost us? What happened to the joy of finding a level 100 overall or sword when we spent endless hours training? Just a few months ago I scrolled a 121 Black Nisrock, yet that made me emotionless compared to when my friend scrolled a 124 att White Nisrock a few years ago. Why? Because it is no longer an achievement. As maplestory goes on; in eventuallity perfect equips will not be an achievement going on this road. And in eventuallity maplestory will turn into a mere Pizza Slice beacuse everything has become so easy. Who remembers when we would find a Blue Screamer at Lythancopes? 4 years ago: OMFG GUYS I FOUND A BLUE SCREAMER!1oneehundredeleven!@ Present time: Meh, a Blue Screamer (NPC's) What is my point? People no longer hunt monsters to get drops which was one of the essential points to the game before maker. Maker literally obliterated any reason to hunt drops. Why should one hunt for a Red Katana at pepe's when you can easily maker one with a shorter amount of time and much better? It discredits being a high level. I mean how many times did we see a level 100 Hermit compared to a level 150 Night Lord in present time? In Summary, Maker not only made this game alot easier; it took away the joys. PS- Yea, I'm being nogalistic right now; but I do have a point if you look in-depth

Remember a lot of stuff came from Gach and all that crap, and the game progresses and things got easier even before Maker. But Maker does give one the ability to make amazing equips, and I understand where you are coming from. Kudos.

How has it 'ruined' Maplestory? So we don't have to grind for hours (and even days/ weeks) to get an equip that COULD be under average? It saves people A LOT of time to create an item that wasn't even possible a few years back. Hell - Why your at it, why don't you say white scrolls are ruining Maplestory. Chaos scrolls. Vega scrolls (a limited time only, but had an impact on the way we scrolled items). Maker skill has not ruined Maplestory, it has saved Maplestory. Edit: Oh - and I forgot to add that we do have to hunt drops including ores (to improve the stats of an item), etc drops (to make the crystals to actually make the item). Most etc drops didn't have much of a use until the maker skill came around. Now they finally do :O

I also agree. Not that it's ruined the game, but it's a convenience with a high "moral" cost.

Ruined is over exaggerating things too much. It has helped us get items easier than before. People still need to hunt for scrolls (If they made the maker skill make scrolls then that's going too far) and we still have to hunt untradable items and maple weapons. There are still some items that can't be made using maker like stonetooth as well, and don't forget you have to be 5 levels under the required level and be of that job to make the item you want.

I guess some people are nostalgic about the uhm, I don't want to say "EXTREMELY CHALLENGING TIMES WHERE YOU HAD TO HUNT FOR EQUIPS", but it was significantly harder to get equips back then, so I guess some people kind of miss the challenge of getting equips from monsters. A hunt, basically.

What if makered items would be untradeable? Then everyone would have to hunt the items for themselves, seems like a pretty good idea to me.

I just spent 50 million mesos on making a shoe. Maker ruined my FUNDS, not the game. >-> Though I must admit, making an advanced power crystal is not exactly easy. I swear the rate is lower than 5%, I just know it. D:< Should've not bought any crystals at all and gotten the 37 mill APC I saw in FM. Would've saved money, heh. But yeah, reverse shoe is awesome. And no, I didn't buy any monster crystals, powders, or pieces of time. It's gems that are so costy. >_> Maker's pretty fun in my opinion. You take forever to get the proper items and then it's do or die. I did; I got an extra point of STR on aforementioned boot out of the blue. :D Who cares if the standard of items is higher now? Just wait for item rating and potential scrolls. JUST WAIT. Then you can talk about ruined game.
