It would really help if we knew your luk. If it's kinda high, save up to maker and (+2 int, +2 magic attack) 100% scroll one so it's 156/23 at the least. It's what I'm doing, since I didn't anticipate running into any cash at all when I set my base luk to 75.

Definitely reverse, if done right a clean reverse will match a well scrolled DDS.

Right now its lukless at level 4x, and Im gonna start adding luk once I determine my end-game weapon. I dont fully understand the maker skill, also.

Well, if made properly, you can have 30~36 more magic out of it than a DDS. It also requires 43 more luk to wear, so you'll need 89 luk from equips to benefit from the DDS. The catch? If you scroll anything for luk you could have scrolled for int, it's all for naught. Good luck (lol) with that.
