Is it a valuable skill to have as an outlaw? I look at the skill and think "wow this would be awesome for mu lung, balrog pq, etc.) but I have no clue honestly. What does it do exactly? Thanks!

Locks you onto a monster. Thats it. Leveling it up just adds damage. So... yeah. Advanced Homing does the same thing, but adds damage to your target. PEW PEW.

What it basically does at 3rd job is hit the monster with, say, 150% damage. At 4th job when you get bullseye (Must have homing beacon maxed) you hit the monster with more damage and a certain % can is added to your damage when attacking the locked-on monster. At level one it hits 390% on a monster and adds 1% to your attacks. @ bottom: Yes or until you hit another monster with it. I've never tried leaving it for a long period of time, idk if it would disappear after a while of being idle.

hmm, i've always wondered; once it's stuck on a monster it's stuck on it until it dies right?

No, the Skill lasts for a certain Duratation of Time. its Important to Max, as an Outlaw you need maxed homing beacon for Bullseye, which is Amazing. also, HH solo's need Homing beacon. back to Bulls Eye, it hits 390% damage once, then it increases your damage by 20% for all of your attacks.

its good for hh's as a third jobber. as for bullseye. think of it as a "status ailment" for whatever monster gets hit. it can be dispelled however, ive never seen it run out due to time.

[/quote] Homing Beacon lasts forever unless you either leave the map the monster you tagged is in, get dispelled, or if you tag a different monster with it. Homing Beacon isn't really that good at 3rd job, since if a monster gets in your way, you end up whacking that monster (until the balance patch comes.) And max Bullseye does 580% damage at max and adds 20%. |

When it says 150% it means it would hit 3k (if your range was 1k-3k). It doesnt add any damage, and it just stops you from hitting mobs.

1) It's pretty useful in the situation that arises being... 2) Where you want to concentrate attacks on a certain monster (Bosses within mobs) 3) Level 1 Homing does the same thing as level 30, locks onto a monster yet, 4) You MUST max the skill by level 120 or you cannot put points in "Advanced Homing", the upgraded version of "Homing Beacon"

I use it when I'm newting. I'll kill the first newt and homing beacon the 2nd one. Sometimes the first newt will spawn before you kill the second newt (especially if you're weak/a lower level) and this allows you to take it out regardless. I'm pretty sure once I started using this method my %/hour ratio went up a decent amount. I would suggest getting at least 1 point in beacon around 86-90 depending on your build.

This skill is really useful. Let's say I'm looking for an HH and I find one in a map where there are Jr.Wraiths or other monsters and I want to hit nothing but the HH so I use H.b. and It helps me stay focused on the HH.
