So I was reading a topic and went back to the homepage and something called v1.download was downloaded. I opened it with notepad and this is what was in it Should I delete it or virus scan it(my antivirus didn't do anything)? I also had nothing else opened. Oh, if this is in the wrong section sorry I didn't know if this would go on the site or tech Edit: I tried posting what it said but it the website said I'm trying to do something that I shouldn't so I can't

Stop using Internet Explorer. Switch to Chrome or Firefox, advertisements on various websites like to exploit common IE errors. This isn't a Basil exclusive problem. Chrome or Firefox may not be 100% protection, but it's significantly better than the gigantic obvious security holes that IE has. Download Avast! and run a scan, download AdAware and run a scan. Most likely you have adware, and since your antivirus didn't say anything I can only assume you have some weak program like Norton or McAffee. Avast! is far better.

Get rid of either Avira or AVG. Spybot's fine, I just recommend AdWare equally alongside SuperAntiSpyware and Spybot. This goes for the TS too: Remove your old antivirus, switch to Avast!, AVG, or Avira. I don't really recommend Avira, Avast! is my personal favourite but AVG and Avira are good too, and still better than most pay-to-own programs (aside from like, Kaspersky which runs what, 60$?)

^lolnorton. I'd still recommend Avast! over Norton. It's adware then, just get AdAware. Kaspersky's one of the few I trust, but dang the pricetag is insane.
smartguy11 : All paid antiviruses cost that much. Stop being cheap. :P
Norton's like 25$ if I recall. McAfee is around that too. Then again, both those are terrible. *Double checks my sources* According to an independent comparison, Norton AND McAfee do better than Kaspersky, with Mcafee having more false positives. They musta upgraded since I used them. In other news, Avira beats all.
