Just for the record, I live in america, and I'm not smart, at all. And I hate the country I live in. I am an 18 year old girl that lives alone, and I probably know more, from general knowledge about our country and the economy, than a 90% of american adults. I recently went to visit a teacher at one of my old highschools, and to my surprise they knew more about america than all of my co-workers. And it's not like I work at a fast food restaurant or anything like that, I work in a office building, with "intelligent" people. I asked simple questions, to the adults at my office and the 14 and 15 year old's at my old highschool. (I wish I had a tape recorder to show you I'm telling the truth, all of these are the real answers I got from 30+ year old adults and two 14 year old kids. And the questions / answers are ; 1. What do you think they should do about the oil spill in the gulf of mexico? Adult answer : "What oil spill?" Highschool answer : "I think they should put a tube around the pipe or something. It all depends on how deep it is. Either way it needs to be contained." 2. Who did/would you vote for on the previous election, and why? Adult answer : "Obama. Because he's gonna lower my taxes. Other wise I don't care what he does." Highschool answer : "Obama, and I'm gonna be honest, because he's black." 3. How do you think we (america in general) will get out of our debt? Adult answer : "We should just go in there, and kick some ass, and take our money back from those chinese people." Highschool answer : "I think we should just raise taxes for a couple of years, and pay them back from lending us so much money." I was amazed at the role reversal. This is how retarded america is. Everyone in america should just stop trying to put up this act that we are so smart and we have a fantastic government, when we vote a person into office that is basically a monkey (-cough- bush -cough-) and we vote another person into office because hes black. Tell me what you think about america. Edit : These are my opinions, I don't care about your american pride (if you have any) and I really don't care if you try and defend america. And I also know not EVERYONE is stupid. Clearly. If EVERYONE was stupid then we wouldn't have things like, medical professionals, police men and women, scientists, things like that. All I'm saying is we really need to turn this country around.

I don't think people everywhere else are especially "smarter", though maybe more in the loop when it comes to world events. I figure it has much more to do with proximity than it does to actual brain power, but on the whole, people in general have rarely proven to be intelligent.

This thread just reminds me of stuff like Jay Walking on the tonight show. They take the stupidest/funniest answers and show them, that's all there is to it. All you're doing is showing a small as well as bad sample of people (and I'm not even sure they were entirely serious) compared to what seems like a good sample of HS students. On both sides of things I doubt you have enough of a sample to really warrant a legit analysis of this stuff anyways.
