Okay, well I play Maplestory with a laptop....obviously (<_<). So It's been overheating, and so I bought a laptop cooling fan (=,=) So I have a question (o-O") Since I play Maplestory ALOT, do I keep my laptop cooling fan ON the WHOLE time I use the laptop? Because won't it wear out or break, if I use it like the whole time I keep my laptop on? Does any of you guys use a laptop cooling fan on the WHOLE TIME ? P.S. My laptop cooling fan is USB powered, meaning I don't have to plug it in....

In reality your cooling fan will probably do nothing. Those things are nothing but gimmicks. But yes, leave it on all the time.

you're better off getting either a can of compressed air and removing the dust from the vents, or better if you know how/know someone who can, open the laptop up and clean the fan carefully. Overheating in laptops comes from overworking the processor or lack of air flow. Seeing how you bought a cooling fan i'm assuming its air flow. I too bought a cooling fan but it didnt help much. I can see dust in the vents but my laptop is slowly dying so I bought a new laptop. Alienware m11x ftw

Those laptops get clogged up very quickly. Usually you can take the keyboard off, and start taking it apart from there. once you get the bottom casing off, just blow it out. |

When I changed my laptop's visual settings to "optimal", I noticed that the fan rarely comes on now. Just thought I'd suggest it since it worked for me.

I usually used 2 regular fans for both my comps when I was playing, worked well.

The cooling fan might help a little but You should clean the dust and probably get a better cpu cooler

My cooling fan helps, and make sure that there is nothing UNDER the cooling fan, so that there is air underneath it so it can vent it at the laptop. If there is something underneath it for too long, then your laptop does overheat and turn off. I use my fan the entire time.

My laptop never overheats and is extremely fast, especially when I play MapleStory. Leave it on all the time.

Try taking a deep breath and blowing into the fan on the bottom. Then wait a minute, and blow in the one on the side. My laptop used to overheat but now when I do this all the time it never overheats.

You don't need a cooling fan. I've been playing MS on the same laptop for the past 4yrs and its fine.
