How to get insignias?

I try to fight the boss but channel 2 keeps crashing. How do I get them?

I think it's 500,000 to summon the boss. You only get insignias if your boss takes over the town. There's a certain amount of insignias you earn, depending on how many pies/cakes you turn in. I believe at 501+, you earn 6 insignias if you win.

You turn in cake or pie pieces to summon the cake or pie boss in channel 2. Once the boss is summoned, everyone who wants to participate goes to channel 2 and lags it until it crashes. On the off chance that channel 2 survives long enough, everybody who's still alive beats the yummy filling out of whichever boss was summoned until either the cake or pie side wins. Once the boss is either dead or saved (channel crashing doesn't count), talk to your cake or pie faction leader to redeem your insignias. How many you get depends on how many cake or pie pieces you donated and whether your faction won or lost. In case you missed it, if the channel crashes before the boss is either saved or killed, nobody gets insignias. Booo

[/quote] The boss can't take over, the channel keeps crashing.

Can you get the insignias if you turn in your pieces then log off? Assuming that your faction wins, can you get insignias when you log back on?

Yes, if you log out and back in, you can get insignias if you've earned them (I got disconnected and still got mine, so... lol) It seems though that if you don't at least hit the boss when it summons, you don't get any insignias no matter how much you donated.
