Sader/Hero Damage vs. Aran

Hey Guys First off i want to say, im not trying to start a flame war. Im sorry if my question does come across the wrong way but i just want to know the straight forward answer. Both characters have their weaknesses and strengths but im wondering which deal bigger NUMBERS? Do Arans SHOW bigger numbers than Saders from 70-120? If both were well funded and dexless characters? what about 120+ v heros? (If you need more info to calculate please ask! ) Also, would you trade a 9/18att hammered MS Shield for a (not sure str) 111att hammered Lv64 Kartsan ? could that be an end game weapon? thankyou!

I'm not DEXless but I 'show bigger numbers' than an Aran of same level/DEX/type of equips, mainly because once my combo is charged up it lasts for like 3 minutes and my damage becomes stable. Obviously Combo Smash does more damage but that's not something you fire off every 3 seconds. But it's the same with crusaders - panic does a very nice, big number but you can't be spamming it either.

later on, arans definitely show bigger numbers, seeing as how arans are single hits, while heroes and their brandish hit twice. especially with +100 combos, arans will deal consistently more damage, and are quite flashy. even their dps is higher when they have +100 combo(by a little bit, if i remember). arans can easily hit 60k's with final blow/crit, while any hero that can do 60k's(times two) would be GODLY... i'm kind of nub, and hit 30k's w/ a normal 2h. *feels sad* overall, damage output [basically] is the same, so pick whatever one you prefer.

[/quote] That would be because it is me, bosephus, the same that was once a regular on the warrior basil forums 4-5 years ago. I moved Bosephus from Broa to Mardia a couple years ago and have only leveled him 3 times in 3 years LOL. That is what 90 dex gets you, to 11x and then you realize if you were 60 or lower dex you would be in the 180s like all the other "heroes" Actually Vaust is the one that convinced me to quit Bosephus. It isnt that I hate my sader, in fact I still like playing him more than ANY of my characters. It is that I know for a fact if I were to pick him back up I would be re-addicted to the grind syndrome and never see my wife again haha ;D Good to hear that someone remembers me from way back then =)

Man those were the good old days where maplestory was actually fun and an adventure :b =)

[/quote] You're completely right on the combo smash aspect; that's why it gets replaced in third job by fenrir phantom (or, as it's called in GMS, combo penril). By the time I had finally maxed fenrir by 9x, it had the ability to hit 25k; a 50k total potential, since it hits twice. Now, at 120, it can hit double that amount. But, the combo system is as much of a weakness as it is a strength; you'll find that you're not going to start off training or bossing at your full potential, and you may forever have an internal argument over a normal speed polearm or a much stronger slow speed one (I'm having that right now over my heavenly messenger and reverse diesra; sometimes, I'll even pause while bossing to switch between the two). But, to answer your question, Arans heavily outdamage Crusaders during first, second, and third jobs. I have had a Crusader of my own in the past, so I feel comfortable standing by that statement. I can't yet tell you who wins during 4th, though; I quit my Crusader at 103. xD
