| This is what DPM should be based on... • Self Buff (Meaning NL's DPM does not include SE!) • No Pots • Boss and Mob Category • Percentage loss based on player's skill Basically, I'm tired of hearing, "NL + SE > All." NL's don't have SE so it doesn't count... Another thing that grinds my gears (yes... Family Guy...) is when someone says, "MM only have high DPM because of Snipe." What about you NLs? All you guys do is cast SP and spam stars... us BM do the same except without a shadow and without stars. Arrows rule of course. Potting always gets on my nerves. Why? Would you use an apple while killing a boss? Yes? Good. Now what about training? No? Oh, thats too bad... Potting is nice to have, even while training but it shouldn't be included with DPM unless you really want it to but then it messes everything else up... >.< Of course because boss battles are not the same as training, mostly due to pots and party buffs. I said mostly! There should be two different categories for boss DPM and MOB DPM. This is also because Hurricane and Snipe are used in completely different ways. Now mind me, I know this is already in affect but it needs to stay that way. Lastly, every player plays differently. Playing better than someone is a different story. Because not everyone plays the same and because hardly anyone uses the same keys, even then it would be different, DPM would be affected greatly. I hate hearing when Corsairs DPM is __________._____ because that does not mean you'd do the same damage based on the way you play or the equipment you have. SO! I suggest that DPM would have a percentage gain and loss, just like resistors. All DPM are already based on characters with normal stats and equips (I hope...) and show... Actually screw all that, does anyone know of any DPM calculator? If not, someone should code one and include proportional SE buff with entries for attack, level, and stats. This would be much easier but I swear if anyone says, "NL + SE > All!".... I know some of you will post that... Just take note that I will not be giving you a cookie! Edit: Thank you for all those who did not say "NL + SE > All!" You deserve a cookie, claim here. Now, I read a post saying DPM is about finding true potential? I thought DPM was there to help the player decide which class to choose. If DPM was all about true potential, I think there'd be a lot of pissed off players because of their "lack of funding". Edit edit: If DPM is self reflecting then why is there no calculator? Link please. Even if there was a calculator, it's all rubbish because it does not calculate into the effect of player skill. It's like saying, "I can win the lottery, even though my chances are 18-120 million to one (yes I actually pulled the numbers here .), I can still win it! Edit edit edit: Now if you haven't got the hint yet. Classes should have their average clothes, meaning clean and perfectly average, otherwise the data becomes useless. DPM isn't to show what the class "can do", its to |
