BobRIf you don't already have it, get "Malwarebytes" (Google the name for the download link), install it, update it and run it. (Malwarebytes is one of the most respected anti-spyware scanners available.) It should find and remove anything evil on your computer. You didn't tell us what you were using to "scan" your computer currently. Odds are your computer is infected with a "fake-antivirus scanner" trojan which has been hitting a LOT of Basilmarket users lately. It suddenly pops up and says "OMG! Your computer is infected with a ton of Trojans and Viruses! Scan immediately, then send us a lot of money for our crap "full version" to remove all of them." If this sounds like what's happening, Malwarebytes is known to remove it.

BobRThese fake-antivirus trojans have been getting pretty sneaky. Many of them are afraid of Malwarebytes and will try to disable it before it can kill them. Try downloading Malwarebytes, but DON'T call it "mbam.exe" like it defaults to. In the "Save As,,," box, CHANGE where it says "mbam.exe" to something else. For example, call it "Basil.exe". That way the trojan won't be able to recognize it. If you can't even get to the Malwarebytes web site, you'll have to download it on a different computer and use a USB flash drive to copy it over to the infected computer. Do the same rename trick before you put it on the flash drive. Then copy it onto the infected computer. Restart that computer in SAFE MODE with Network. (BEFORE the Windows screen appears press F8 over and over until a new menu appears. Select "Safe Mode with Network" and press Enter. Tell it NO when it asks if you want to use System Restore.) When the Safe Mode desktop appears, install Malwarebytes by opening the "Basil.exe" file. The trojan won't recognize Malwarebytes until it's too late. First Update Malwarebytes if the Internet connection is working, then scan the computer. Hopefully it'll be able to kill the trojan.
