so i got into uc santa cruz and cal poly san luis obispo and i can't decide between these two.. at uc santa cruz my major is health science which is sort of what i want to do -nursing, but the campus it self looks very bland for my taste and too gloomy (it has a lot of forest and trees, etc) at cal poly, i like the campus more and i think ill have more fun, but my major is child development which is like child psychology, etc.. i sort of want to do that but i don't think i'll make money after i graduate.. i have till may 1st to decide which one i want to go to more, and i still do not know! all my friends tell me to go to cal poly because its a really good school, but when i tell them they don't have my major (nursing), they end up telling me to go to uc santa cruz.. any suggestions?

cal poly san luis opbispo is a really good school. But if they don't have what you want then you might have fun during college but you won't have fun for the rest of your life. Do what you enjoy and enjoy what you do. You'll have fun at ucsc too haha

Out of curiosity but have you had any work experience in either field? You have to realise these decisions will influence what you'll be doing for the rest of your life so you should have a good idea what you're getting yourself into. My advice would be to not go to college this year, take a gap year and get some life experience and then reapply. That's what I did, I did some GP shadowing, hospital volunteering, picked up violin, worked and raised some funds for university and was able to travel around Europe. I'm at UCL now studying Med Chem.

ya, i am a kindergarten teacher/tutor and i have volunteered at kaiser i like kids more than what i did at kaiser, well maybe because kaiser is a horrible place to volunteer because of its lack of training and organization.
