American English spelling.

I am American and I hate American English. British English spellings are just so much better. I've leaned towards them for a lot of words my entire life (unintentionally). I lean towards grey , theatre , behaviour , and many more. Which English do you personally favour?

I'm actually fine with 'Merican spellings and all. This is because being a jazz musician, we say Jazz is totally American. Blending of cultures and sounds makes it American, unique, us. And so on. British English looks fancier/classier but I don't really pronounce it "thea-treh".. well that's how I read it lol. :>

British English spellings. Colour, doughnut, programme, theatre, favourite, honour, analyse, centre, etc...

I've heard that "American" English is the original "British" English. That is, back in the 1700s, when Britons and what not were still migrating to North America, they sounded similar to today's American English. However, over time, British English changed into the form we know it as today. I may be inaccurate, though. :o

I grew up learning british english so that's what I practised haha I dont use theatre or programme though... but I do like writing centre sometimes

I almost want to vomit every time someone puts a u in behavior and favorite. X_X That is so silly... it would almost necessitate a different pronunciation.

So some man came up with a new language called "American English". It sounds basically the same, but it has different spellings.
