God, I hate this course. There's nothing wrong with the subject matter, except that there's so freaking much of it. This class has completely destroyed my social life. Oh, sorry, let me rephrase. If I didn't play Maplestory, this class would have completely destroyed my hypothetical social life. I have ZERO free time and I think I'm going to fail the Regents. If anyone can help me, I need some quick help on equilibrium and gas laws. Thanks in advance.

I bet that's not the only thing you're blowing off... *wink wink* OT: I hate chem too.

I don't see how you can have a problem with gas laws.

@Hierarchy You, sir, win. @BabysAreFood Because My teacher can barely speak English, and I'm fourteen. BTW, nice IGN.

NecoWhat specifically about those things do you need help with?

@Neco Gas Laws: The math-ness of it and those crappy equations that I don't understand. Equilibrium: THE ENTIRE CHAPTER.

Honestly chem wasnt tough, until we hit thermo... thermo killed me, mater of fact i still have hardly any idea how to go about it.

NecoMost important equation with gases, the ideal gas law, which is: PV=nRT. Pressure x Volume = moles x ideal gas constant x temperature. Solving problems with only that equations requires just plugging in values you have and solving for the ones you don't. When using the combined gas law, you know that the amount of moles of gas will remain constant. By rearranging the ideal gas law, you get n = PV/RT. Since the combined gas law is to find a change in certain variables between 2 conditions, you set up the equation, PV/RT (for condition 1 ) = PV/RT (for condition 2). You then plug in all the values you have and solve. STP is Standard Temperature and Pressure, 1 atm and 273 K. Partial pressures are used when there is more than one gas in a container. You multiply the mole fraction by the total pressure to get the pressure exerted by the specific gas. For equilibrium, you're gonna have to be more specific or I can't help you.

spunk3hChemistry is harder in Canada. I'm finished Chem 12 though, so I can probably help you with some questions.

Moles = fail. I did horribly on the test. Balancing Equations = easy! Stoich = win. Once I got used to moles, it was easy . Gas Laws I = tricky applications of gas laws questions suck. Gas Laws II = Yay easy math! Bonding = Yay drawing! Solutions I = Look at gas laws 1, but not as bad. Solutions II = Easy but I have unfair teachers that give really dumb and tricky questions... Acids/Bases = Easy :O Everything prior to moles is easy. I do have to agree with you that it chemistry ruins your life >_>"

Chemistry is the most fun science I've taken. The teacher makes things blow up in class, and I never study/and get A+ on everything.

If you think that is hard. Try Organic Chemistry.
